Ms Peri Lynne Johnson, Legal Adviser and Director of the Office of Legal Affairs, has invited the Junior Professional Officers and some staff in the IAEA to an informal discussion with Mr Stephen G. Burns, Chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Mr Burns shared his experiences, challenges and lessons learned working at and with international organizations and discussed future issues in the area of international law.

Amory Peck and other demonstrators wear rainbow gags on May 14 to protest what they believe is an attempt to silence LGBTQ voices during the 2016 United Methodist General Conference in Portland, Ore. The silent protest took place at the edge of a plenary session of the conference.

 

The United Methodist Church does not authorize the ordination of "self-avowed practicing homosexuals," but activists have for years demonstrated in favor of change at the quadrennial gathering of the world-wide denomination.

 

Peck is a lay member of the Pacific Northwest conference.
