Shimmering waters that sometimes remind me of the color and beauty of emerald, in the other moments they are more clear and must be similar to another gemstone that I don't know. Nature is splendid and produces wonders in uncontable colors, so everything is possible.
I uploaded these photos of Lago di Braies again because I want to share with you, Flickr friends, the splendor of this place.
I've disabled the ability to comment on almost all photos. But I will be happy if you, Flickr friends, feel the desire to explore the enchanting details of this magical place.
Happy Sunday to all of you, and a nice week ahead ;)
For Smile on Saturday and the theme "Gemstones".

From Wikipedia:
The ideal pearl is perfectly round and smooth, but many other shapes, known as baroque pearls, can occur. The finest quality of natural pearls has been highly valued as gemstones and objects of beauty for many centuries.
Because of this, the pearl has become a metaphor for something rare, fine, admirable, and valuable.
I hope that you smile and smile some more today. Happy snapping.

These semi-precious stones are imperfect for final processing because they contain impurities, so they are only rounded and strung into a beautiful necklace.

This necklace doesn't belong to me, wish it did!
Made by a dear friend and called a 'collectors necklace' because of the variety of gemstones. The gemstones used are mainly Amber and Jade. Some in the shape of leaves, butterflies and flowers. Also freshwater pearls (green ones) - smokey quartz and pea green turquoise.
Amber is a fossilized resin and renowned for it's 'healing' properties and is as old as time itself, dating back millions of years.
Jade is a special stone that is believed to promote wisdom, balance, and peace.

I had a good look through the vendor's stall holding each stone up to the light. I loved this one and although very small it showed potential. It was then a challenge to bring out the colours using my ring light and mobile phone torch. I added "stars" to enhance the appearance of outer space.
