"So today, at 40 years old & 13 years after being in a ring with my mentor WWE legend Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake watching over me, I dawned the Peter Karalekas created masked Shane O'Kane gimmick one last time before I put it away forever and made these kids day. On this day I was a hero to my 6 year old son at his birthday party and maybe years from now he will look back and say, "I had a pretty cool dad" - John Quinlan 8/29/2015 #JohnQuinlan

Posting a kissing picture is a bit out of my comfort zone. I debated whether or not to put this one up, but I decided to just go for it. I think the concept it really funny.
I asked Super Sancho to join me for my 365 Photo taken at a New Year's Eve party (hosted by Holy Macintosh). Here's Sancho's 365 pic and here's one of me taking a picture.
New Year's Eve was fun. It's the most socially engaging New Year's party I've been to in a long time. Beats sitting around at home alone or going out with my parents' card club friends.
And I know some of you are wondering. This is a non-alcoholic beverage in our glasses. But guess what-- I'm 21 days away from being 21.

FGR invades Moustache Monday
This is a copycat of ~maitexu~'s shot from her 365. It wasn't as easy as I thought it would be as my model was rather uncooperative. My daughter decided she could do it better (below). Um, not.
and another guest appearance. sabin took this of her own feet at legoland. adidas highstops. don't these guest appearances make for a nice change from my aqua wellies? :-)

Susan Boyle is seen leaving The London Studios last night after filming with Piers Morgan for his series Life Stories..The interview was an impressive balance of candidness and honesty, rich humour and with the normal Susan Boyle cheek. Susan was really reflective of her very special relationship with Piers Morgan. It was also announced yesterday that the release of Susan's new album has been brought forward a week to Monday November 8th and that it's available to pre-order on Amazon...Pictured: Susan Boyle..Ref: SPL217855 121010 .Picture by: Splash News..Splash News and Pictures.Los Angeles:310-821-2666.New York:212-619-2666.London:870-934-2666.photodesk@splashnews.com.
For the first weekend of Spring break, I went to my boyfriend's hometown near Chicago. To get there we took a bus that got stuck in Milwaukee due to a silly parking lot. We arrived in Chicago about 3 hours later than planned. aaaaaarrrg.
The wheels of the bus were off the ground and spinning. We tried putting sand bags and board underneath it, but no luck. We tried to get a hold of dispatch who could get a hold of a tow truck, but both of those took forever. Finally a tow truck came, but it had too weak of a chain (you're pulling a bus...shouldn't you plan ahead?!). So we waited for a second tow truck. Finally we were able to get out of that parking lot and continue on our journey.
Today I went out to lunch with my friend Rachel. I love one-on-one get togethers..they are so much more personal than group outings.
After lunch, we drove around the town looking for a new spot to continue our visit. Neither of us live in the town we were in, so we weren't familiar with the "in" spots and therefore just ended up picking a random coffee shop that we saw. This place was...ummm.. memorable. Things that Rachel and I will always laugh about now...
1. After the teenage cashier helped the customer before us, she picked up a broom and started sweeping the floor. We had coffee cups in hand and were very obviously just waiting to pay. She turned to us and said, "I'll help you when I'm done with this." Who just stops serving customers like that? So we told her we'd just pay on our way out instead.
2. The last gulp of coffee/cocoa was disgusting. The cups were cold and therefore made our drinks really cold, really fast.
3. Rachel went to the bathroom before we left. She almost threw up because of the terrible smell. Needless to say, I waited until I got home to use a bathroom.
It was a real classy joint. ;-)

This is Patty. She owns Hair Genesis on Thomas Drive in Panama City Beach, FL.
She's been making me look and feel fabulous for almost 10 years.
Make and appointment or drop in, have a glass of wine, and get your hair or nails did (full service salon, too!).
With her husky laughter and broad smile, I promise you'll be quick friends.

A [fake] picnic with two handsome boys [and Elmo] on a sunny day...life is good.
I took the morning/afternoon off from school/work, which felt super good. I spent the day at my sister's house working on my final project for my psychology class. I videotaped Landon during his autism therapy. Hopefully I'll be able to make some sort of informational project out of it by next week. I also got a chance to have fun with my sister and nephews this afternoon. We had this picnic, we went to the park, Derek showed off all of the words/colors/animal noises he can say, and we ran around the house chasing each other. Today was a good day.
For my Color-themed Week via "Girls Theme Week Live": Yellow!
Tonight we had a girl's night party at a friend's apartment. It was really fun! I'd say that most of my college friends are guys, so I rarely do things without boys around. So a girls night was a great idea. We made tacos, played Cranium and Guesstures, and acted like the giggly girls we are. Near the end of the evening, we had a silly photo shoot which includes this pic.
This is Amanda! Although this is her first time appearing in my 365 set, she's been mentioned quite a bit. Amanda is my next door neighbor. She's the U-Crew peer mentor on my floor (aka a sophomore living on an all-freshman floor in order to be a role model). She's the hall council president. But most importantly, she's my friend! She's been my closest girl friend in the building this year- she's kept me from going insane (more than she probably realizes). I've loved the companionship, the girl talk, the white board messages, and the goodnight knocks on the wall!
Cedric, a Welsh Corgi was at the cottage today to attend the 80th Birthday for my father-in-law. He sniffed out the dinner rolls that are buried in my Longaberger basket. The family members all pitched in and brought up food, drinks, tables & chairs, tents, toys, balloons, cake & ice cream and gifts for dad's birthday party. Since Holly can't be here today, Cedric is making a guest appearance as the dog photo for the day on Flickr.
I spent today with my three best friends from high school. We went bridesmaid dress shopping for Nikki's wedding which is next summer. It's so weird to think about people my age getting married, but it's started happening already!
This is Sylvia! We've been friends since 2nd grade. I don't get to see her much since we've both moved away to college, but when I do it's pretty much amazing. Her birthday was yesterday and we're both on spring break, so we drove down to celebrate with a few other high school friends of ours at their college (they all had class at 8am the next morning, ha!). It was mega fun!
This is a rare moment that I used the flash on my camera. But seeing as this was your typical cliche "OMG, let's take a picture together!" moment, I think its perfectly acceptable for it not to be artsy.
We drove back to the cities on Saturday night and stayed at my sister's house. I love my nephews so much. Pictured here is my nephew who is 1.5 years old. He's a huge copycat, so it wasn't too hard to have a funny-faced photo shoot with him. I babysat him and his 3 year old brother for most of the next day. By the end of the day, I could open up my arms and they'd both come running to give me a hug and then we'd topple over. :-)
husband took this himself and announced, "for your shoe per diem blog," so he's here as a guest. and these are his very fetching steel-tipped safety shoes. in case he drops a saw on his foot when he's building chicken coops and treehouses.

Unfortunately, when we got to the park, it was flooded from the rainstorm the night before.
If you haven't guessed, I'm spending the weekend with my family.
I baby-sat my nephews today. It was so much fun. Pictured here is my nephew who is 1 3/4 years old. He is at SUCH a fun age. He imitates actions and sounds and he's learning new words all the time (he doesn't say them 100% right, but he's saying them nonetheless).
I've been trying to get him to say my name for awhile now and I've finally had a success. He doesn't say my whole name yet, but he says the first syllable of my name whenever you point to me or at a picture of me. It makes me really happy. :-)
Another photo with Dan. It's Valentine's Day weekend, I'm allowed a few barfy couple shots, right?
Tonight we made dinner with two of his roommates and their girlfriends. We watched Stranger Than Fiction as a group. And then while the other couples went off to do their couple-y things, Dan and I played Guitar Hero in their living room. :-)

My Car Makes a Guest Appearance
Yes, I wish my car sat at the end of the rainbow -- especially since that price sign is about 20¢ below today's price. Her name is Eos, the Greek Goddess of Dawn. She is a 2008 Toyota Solara (the 2-door Coupe version of the Camry) and her color is dark gray, hence the name -- 'The Cold, Gray Light of Dawn'. Iris was the Greek Goddess of the Rainbow.
