I know this has been shot a million times (maybe thousands of times just that day) but it's still an amazing place so who can resist it?

A long exposure shot of people and passing through Grand Central Terminal, NYC.

GCT LA29 looking fairly new, even down to the Leyland rear wheel trims and the application of the softer Tram Green. Note however that the rear bumper has been removed and the chassis crossmember painted yellow instead. Ive no idea where this photo came from, it is a scanned photo that was given to me, so apologies for no credit.

I think this is GCT LA27. Orrible init. One of 22 buses, according to "Streets of Glasgow" painted in upside down colours.

L104WYS was a Volvo B6-50 / Alexander Dash B40F purchased new by Kelvin Central Buses in March 1994. KCB was later bought out by Strathclyde Buses, and this bus was allocated to the GCT subsidiary before passing to Eastern Counties.

A little city tour in the preserved Glasgow Corporation Alexander bodied Atlantean PDR1 this afternoon. This is a classic Glasgow bus in a classic Glasgow setting, having just emerged from the Heilenman's Umbrella and is just about to climb up Hope Street. www.gvvt.org

Strathlcyde Buses LA1189 is seen on Gallowgate in 1993 just outside the Forge Shopping Centre working on a 62A to Easterhouse.

LA1189 was one of the 15 small batch of WUS/S Leyland Atlanteans new to Greater Glasgow PTE in August and September 1977 following the UGG/Rs. It did well though lasting in service until 1997 having spent its last year with SBLs GCT operation.

MVK520R was a Leyland Atlantean AN68A/2R / Alexander AL Type H48/31D purchased new by Tyne & Wear PTE as their fleetnumber 520 in December 1976. It was acquired by Strathclyde Buses after the Larkfield depot fire becoming fleetnumber LA1469, later passing to the associated GCT operation as GLA23 in 1993. It was captured working in Paisley on service 117 from Govan Cross.

A few more push processing experiments.

E950XYS was an MCW Metrorider MF150/55 B23F purchased new by Strathclyde Buses as their M65 in December 1987. It was transferred to GCT in 1994, and was working service M12 bound for Bishopbriggs.

JAL879N was a Leyland Atlantean AN68/1R / East Lancs H78D new as Nottingham City Transport number 609 in May 1975. It was acquired by Strathclyde Buses to replace buses lost in the Larkfield fire and the centre doors were removed by Glasgow coachbuilders Bennetts. After use by SBL for a couple of years, it was cascaded into the low-cost GCT unit and was repainted into green and yellow. However rather embarrassingly it had to be used by the main SBL fleet during a vehicle shortage, but it would be renumbered to GLA10 when it finally reached GCT in 1993.
