At the edge of the mangrove near Caracol Bay... several mature and juvenile green herons (GRHE) in residence, loud warning vocalizations... some are hunting...
. . . and rock gawking in the eastern Sierra Nevada. The mix of sun and clouds made for some nice lighting, until the clouds won the day, and the rains came.
$10 says the girl here has a motorcycle that she was dreaming about when I took this pic back in 2012. Maybe not as fancy as this one but a motorcycle all the same.
Another shot that I reprocessed a bit to highlight the connection between the girl and motorcycle and to give the shot a bit more breathing room, something I think about more when I compose the final image. When I first posted this shot it was more about the motorcycle but I think this tells a better story. The motorcycle may be the star of the shot but the girl/people/gawkers make the story. BTW: I love the small size of the cell phones.

Twain: I'm 97 ... just turned ....
but I feel 87 ...
Lam: Twain ! I do not suffer fools gladly !!

Lam: What ?
Twain: You know .. suffer fools gladly .. Have a smile on their face upon meeting a fool, slap their knee in joy, gaffaw .. all that.

Lam: [somewhat tortured look on his face]
[suddenly the small studio door opens again ... a mysterious white fog descends thick upon the studio floor almost engulfing both Twain and Lam .. as Lake Solee slowly steps out of the Fog dressed in a 1940's French Classic outfit ... such as this one:

[Walking directly up to Twain in her 9 inch sharp high heel shoes .... grabbing him by his shirt collar and pulling him to her face nose-to-nose and begins to speak with a slight French accent]
Lake: 'No, .. no, ..this time, ...I will not kiss you as I did three years ago ... you still disgust me beyond repulsion ! ...but ... [let's go of Twain as she throws him back into his studio chair with a swift hard force that nearly breaks both his back shoulder blades !
Twain: ...no kiss ? wrong lipstick?
Lake: [arm to forehead] ..'No' ...
Twain: My mesh breath ? ..
Lake: 'No' ....
Twain: Why then ? ...
Lake: You , ... you disgust me so much ...
Lake: tu es inférieur au vermon. comment oserais-je embrasser une chose immonde comme toi ?!!
Lam: I see her point Twain ..
Lake: Merci Lam .. vous cher homme.
Twain: I dun'no .. I wrote you a better scene in the script from three years ago Lake ...
Lake: Perhaps .... but now I must take my leave ...
Lake: My Blue Phoenix awaits me .. and my heart awaits his ....
Twain: Um ? .. Lake ? ...

Lake: [with fire in her eyes takes out a short sharp knife and places it quickly to Twain's neck .....hisses in Twain's ear]
Lake: 'I have killed men for saying less .... watch your tongue little man !!!! ' Least you have none !!!!! '
Twain: [very slowly gulps]
Lake: [slowly begins to leave the studio]
Twain: [Raises his hand to Lake]
Lake: What now ?!!!
Twain: ...just wondering .. what does .. ISFLY .. mean?
Lake: [smirks to Twain]
Lake: ...your desires in your dreams little man .....
[Lake exists the studio ... the thick fog slowly exists with her]
[Lam looking stunned]
[Lam turns to Twain ]
Lam: She really hates you old boy ...
Twain: [smiles] .. Naw !!
Twain: She loves me !
Twain: She was just teasing !
Lam: Are you quite certain there chap ?
Twain: We had our night in Paris back in '39 ...
Lam: What ?!!!
Twain: ....but alas, our time for this interview is quickly fleeting.
Lam: ..not quickly enough for me!
Twain: [looks through his old Arts Material Box]
Twain: Hmm? I think I still have some old 'Parting Gifts' if you might be interested? A tube of Puce perhaps ?
Lam: No thanks .. I'm happy just to leave this place .. I'm breaking into hives as it is !! ...
Twain: Thank you for the drop in Lam ...
Lam: Oh Twain ... don't mention it old friend ..
Lam: ... not to anyone !!!
Lam: ..could ruin my good name
Twain: [nods] I fully understand

I'm posting this shot for any of you who have tried to photograph the 12 Apostles from this viewing platform, especially at sunset which is when this shot was taken. If you have, you will know that this is a most unusual sight!! For those that haven't been to this location, that rail is usually completely overcrowded with gawking tourists. It is not unusual for there to be 15,000 visitors a day to this spot, many of them at sunset.
As we look to find silver linings during this rotten pandemic and the latest round of lockdown restrictions, this was a very welcome one - albeit from a totally selfish perspective.
p.s. I've had terrible trouble with the internet and connectivity over the last week or more (due to maintenance apparently), so bear with me as I catch up with your latest posts.
