According to the GSMNP website, Newfound Gap Road between Gatlinburg, Tennessee and Cherokee, North Carolina "is the only route that completely traverses the Great Smoky Mountains National Park." Scenic overlooks along this drive offer spectacular views of the Smokies. The overlook at Newfound Gap, where this shot was made, is the highest point along this drive. It is also a place where you can stand on the dividing line between Tennessee and North Carolina.
Taken on a showery day at Wallagoot Gap. Many rocks now exposed where formerly there was a small beach with sand. In the past it has been possible to walk through the Gap to another small beach and at times onto a third beach.
Did not have a lot of time when we were visiting San Diego but I managed to stop by this place. Good thing it was not overly crowded.

Birling Gap is a coastal hamlet within the parish. It is situated on the Seven Sisters not far from Beachy Head and is owned by the National Trust. Coastal erosion has already removed some of the row of coastguard cottages built in 1878, but those that remain are still inhabited. There is a cafe, shop and visitor centre run by National Trust and a metal staircase leading down to the enclosed pebble beach and the Seven Sisters chalk cliffs. In time, the houses are likely to be demolished due to the severe coastal erosion; the Government has concluded that the commercial value of the houses does not justify the construction of sea defences. If walkers are cut off at high tide, they can climb the ladder, which is replaced often, to Birling Gap.

Sycamore Gap was crowned England's 'Tree of the Year' in conservation charity the Woodland Trust's annual contest. Now, with your help it came fifth in the 'European Tree of the Year'. Thank you to everyone who voted for this special tree.

The Gap of Dunloe is a narrow mountain pass running north-south in County Kerry, Ireland, that separates the MacGillycuddy's Reeks Mountain range in the west and the Purple Mountain Group range in the east. It is one of the most popular sites in Ireland and offers beautiful views of Ireland's gorgeous mountain terrain.
Havinng a splashing time celebrating my umpteenth bath day in the company of my eldest granddaughter, back in 2004. Of course there were no masks in those "happy days".
Tip of the day :
In order to achieve this astonishing effect, you’ll need an olympic-size bathtub with loads of suds (or snow if you're into¹ snow bathing) and you’ll also need a beautiful granddaughter! Now if you happen to be a beautiful granddaughter, then you may be looking for a granddad but, not to worry, they’re two a penny² these days.
The picture was taken by her father who was 'filling the gap', so to speak! I just titivated it a bit and called it mine; so it's not exactly a selfie but every bit as good as. It is therefore signed Kittymax & Son, he took the photo and I salvaged it but don't tell him I said that for heaven's sake!

I went for a walk along Hadrian's Wall the other day, and passed by England's most photographed tree. I couldn't do a long exposure as the wind was moving the branches too much but went for a different angle to the usual at this location.
I took this photo at Carriageworks - the old Railway Maintenance sheds in Redfern and now a major contemporary multi-arts centre. I like the window, lighting and textures, but the gap in the seating was what caught my eye here.

A nice end to the day at Birling Gap. After this shot it all went downhill as the clouds completely obscured the sun.

The Gap Wallagoot Far South Coast NSW. There is a narrow gap here which opens to the ocean. The water was a yellowish and dark colour. This was because there was a lot of small, dark green pieces of seaweed being washed in and the LE shows them as dark patches. A short walk from the carpark and down some wooden steps. This day, no-one else on this tiny beach. 10 stop Lee filter and 0.9 soft grad.

The high-rise building on Kasernenstraße in Düsseldorf, right next to the restaurant ‘ALEX’, is called GAP 15. It is a modern office complex consisting of a high-rise building and a low-rise building.

Heading back home after a day out walking near Rothbury, we stopped opposite the famous Sycamore Gap tree which had some gorgeous light covering it.

NS T50 switches out cars at the south end of the yard in Bulls Gap. They're taking headroom on the far southern end of the Appalachia District, which joins the Knoxville District just a few hundred feet ahead at Justice. In a few hours, this power will take train 101 west to Memphis.
