I just love this picture because it represents so well the richness of the Atlantic Rain Forest in a single branch... The marvelous Red-necked Tanager (female), the liquens, the fern, all so full of life... Unfortunately there is less than 5% of the original Atlantic Rain Forest and it is always under threat for numerous reasons. We must protect this delicate and fragile environment.
Have a nice Friday!
Thanks a lot for your visits, comments, faves, invites, etc. Very much appreciated!

While taking an evening walk, I suddenly felt the moonlight shone down on me. Raising my head, I was wowed by the big, bright full moon hanging in the sky. What an excellent opportunity to shoot some moon images!
One small, one large GWR Prairie tanks flat out on the Churnet Valley Railway on a Russ Hillier photo charter. The good old days.

this was given to me upon my retirement - it always reminds me of good times spent doing good things with good people !

Yes, I do remember that day, the last holiday with French friends before Covid time, a picnic with them in a meadow of the Roussillon.
There I found this lovely wild succulent plant, I took a little branch of this for my balcony.
And now this is the first blooming at home!
I don't know its name, I add a picture in the comments for helping the ID.

Today's Smile on Saturday theme is full of memories. A very interesting theme, but hard for me. I have so many wonderful memories. Many of them revolve around our boat and the family and friends who joined us cruising. But even limiting myself to boating photos, there were so many truly awesome places that we visited, I couldn't chose one. So I chose this one - an everyday type of place and scene. Put it in mono since it's a memory now, as is our boat, which we sold in early 2020.
Ich stand am Ufer, der Schwan kam direkt auf mich zu. Kurz vor mir setzte er auf dem Wasser auf. Ich dachte schon, er würde auf mich fliegen.
I stood on the shore, the swan came directly to me. Shortly before me he sat on the water. I thought he was flying at me.
and bokeh!
My hyacinth bean vines are doing great this year, considering last year I wasn't able to harvest any beans... for some reason they were all moldy!
Thankfully a friend gave me some of her beans from the seeds I gave her, so these vines have come full circle! Still not able to harvest them until they dry...
Ocean Beach , Kawhia, Waikato, New Zealand:
Surf, dig a hot water pool on Ocean Beach, build a sand castle, look for fossils, fish – or relax. Test with your toes first by digging around and when you smell the sulphur, you know you are on the right track so time to start digging seriously.
If a stroll on the beach takes your fancy, there are fossils to be found in the sand, so keep an eye out. Don’t forget, your surf or boogie board, shovel or spade, surf caster and your picnic hamper.
Thank you everyone for taking a look at my work, comments, faves, awards and invites, your time is very much appreciated
