"A true friend is someone who thinks that you are a good egg
even though he knows that you are slightly cracked."

I wish you all a great Easter and will be back next week!
This is dedicated to galevine2, for the great testimonial she wrote. A local FLICKR friend and her ability to capture the local cultural is truly the best (she just posted some stunning Native American Pow Wow shots). So this is the last native Poppy I was able to get in this very short season of ours.
I was changing the power loader and ended up making it Friends scale. I tried to keep the design close to my minifig one. I'm pretty sure Simon Liu was the first to do this combo so kudos to him :)
The requested "dude in red cap", captured in my side view mirror as I drove through an ATM.
At the request of a friend to see more of the "dude in [the] red cap" I've uploaded those of him, and several more candid shots that didn't meet standards initially.
One of my Flickr friends told me that if I invest myself into Milo for the first two years of his life then he would invest his life into me for the rest of his life. Milo is almost two years old and he is already the most faithful of friends.
I want you to be real beause you're my only friend right now...
Zoé has felt very sad lately - these feelings come to her every now and then. She loves someone so much but she knows that she can't be with him/her... :( Sometimes the only person who she can tell about her feelings is her reflection... I'm a bit worried about my emotional and beautiful girl ♥
~ ~ ~
I just love this dress on her ♥ It's made by ¤ ebula ¤, thank you (:Zoé is too pretty and ugh I'm missing her (my dolls are at my mom's and I'm at my father's house right now) ♥
I just had to upload this before leaving so yeah, hope you are having a nice Saturday c:
A very friendly cat I met on recent trip to Sandomil, Seia, birthplace of my paternal grandfather. I saw him in the sun and thought I would have to take a photo quickly before he ran away, instead he ran towards me and demanded to be petted for about 15 minutes.
When your best friend is a fish
And grants everything you wish
So you ask for a blue guitar
And a friendly shooting star
And your fish gets it wrong
And brings it to you in song
Singing, "Twinkle Twinkle Little Tinkle
Mary ate a periwinkle"
And then you no longer bother
Because fish can't hear underwater
When a person says, "Hamburger"
A fish just hears "Booger"
And I don't want a booger,
ever.
This is my new friend - a magpie (I think a juvenile) who just won't go away!! He or she arrived a week or so ago and the other day I made the mistake of feeding him/her my dinner. I was going to cook the Scotch Fillet steak but instead I cut it up and fed it to him, as well as several of his 'friends' or 'relatives'.
Soon after a small battalion of magpies arrived and so the next day I went to Coles Supermarket at Cherrybrook to buy more steak for them. That went quickly. But it is this guy that seems to return to my balcony relentlessly. These magpies are certainly not vegetarians!
And now every time I look outside onto the balcony - this is what I see!! He/she sings happily for hours. The magpie singing, though, is quite melodious. However, he/she gets very close and moments ago was perched on the barbecue, and then on top of the stand with the orchids, looking at me here on the laptop. Nearly inside the lounge room. It is ridiculous.
The only good thing is that the magpie singing drowns out, to some extent, the racket from the kookaburras. The kookaburras around here are super noisy. They are almost permanently laughing at something. Possibly me - lol.

Although it is called a "Finch" it's actually a Tanager! This bird appeared in a friend's backyard and she graciously invited some friends to come see and get some shots of it.
More info:
Although commonly regarded as a canary, it is not related to the Atlantic canary and is actually a Tanager. Formerly, it was placed in the Emberizidae, but it is close to the seedeaters. The Saffron Finch is also known as Brazilian Saffron Finch, Brazilian Bunting, Brazilian Canary, Northern Saffron Finch, and Jamaican Wild Canary.
2020 sure isn’t letting up. California is now battling roughly 367 known fires. Today, I decided to drive down the coast and document what I could of the #CZUAugustLightningComplex fire. This fire is just north of Santa Cruz, is burning over 25,000 acres and growing with 0% containment so far. It was a day I won’t forgot.
On the lucky and semi-exciting side of being a photographer, I got to document my buddy and pilot friend @Jakelounsbury who use to fly me around SF and now fights fires, along with his co pilot @rlenzer.
On the not so lucky and not exciting side of things, knowing a friend probably lost his home in this very fire. That part was unsettling to say the least.
I was standing here in absolute awe, with a group of locals who were just evacuated, watching their land and homes burn away in the distance. Everyone was in decent spirits, but you could tell deep down how everyone was really feeling. Something I could not relate to, but I could definitely see it in them.
I started talking with a nice gentleman named Andy, who was a local Arborist and lived in the now burned valley for the past 12 years. He mentioned and pointed at his three trucks filled with everything he could grab. We sort of knew this fire was going to come at us eventually. So before I decided to leave the area and get out of everyone’s way, I offered to help him shuttle his trucks, as he seemed to be alone. One by one a few miles down the road we went so that he could at least get them parked further from this fire zone. I know I can’t stop the fire and save the day, but I also felt I didn’t just want to stand there and be that come and go tourist. I love this area and have explored this coast for the past 10 years as a photographer. Never have I seen it like this. I am praying for these fires to let up and of course 2020 to end.
