My unbelievably talented friend Margie is arriving tonight from Canada!
I still cannot believe I will have the privilege of finally meeting her in person
and get to spend some creative time together here in Mexico.
Bienvenida Margie! Mi casa es tu casa :)
All of the gorgeous photos and artwork above are hers.
I highly recommend you give your eyes a treat at her blog:

What if all my enemies were dead
and i could forget everything they said
could I be then who I really am?
What if I sold everything I own
And ran away from everyone I know
could I make another place my home?
And if I let go all of my ghosts
who would I dump over the months?
What if everyone is right?
Should've taken their advice

Menomena - My My One critique said about Menomena: "There is no one thing by this band that was done by pure coincidence, everything is thought through." I agree.

This is a poem if wrote for my best friend for chirstmas. seeing as I was so poor I had little else to give. But she has been a rock to me this past year and still is my shoulder to cry on and I love her to pieces. Even though she has her own worries and insecurities she still sticks by me, so I wrote her this, to show her exactly how I feel.
Why dost thou so wound my heart
And kill the think I loved in stride
To match the less than what thou art
‘Tis another form of suicide
If in thine mirror you could see
All I have come to see in thee
How it wounds, as I behold
And see the love-left scars you bare
To see thine own love run so cold
And to never with another share
Time shall always mend thy pain
And thou shalt learn to love again
Yet for you to be bequeathed
To another mortal soul
Search thy pieces deep beneath
And make thee once again a whole
One must to thine own self look
Before thee can another brook.
And should thee need help in this
That’s why, my friend, you have I
I’ll take those pieces thee have missed
And probe them with a careful eye
In the hopes you too will see
All I have come to see in thee.
A goddess sent in human guise
You light the world where you do go
Yes, beauty not only outward lies
But deep within thy very soul
A woman, whose beauty’s fair and true
You’ll find men will always follow you
And I’ve ne’er seen you fight as hard
As when fighting for a needy friend
This unbound loyalty makes thee a star
And why I’ll follow thee till the end.
And best of all, you cannot see
Aught of wrong or fault in me
And to thine talents, take a look
Showcase them with an actors flair
Beautiful words you pen to book
And mellifluous songs to air
Do not discount all you can do
You are amazing, through and through
Thy mind is sharp, thy wits are keen
None shall have thee for a fool
So much more than what you seem
You’ll never be another’s tool
Woe is he, who’s found beset
By your fearsome intellect
And to the last but less then none
The strength that burns inside your heart
Not the kind that lifts in tonnes
But what keeps you going through the dark
You’ve a strength you have not known
But to many, like me, its clearly shown
So when you next chance to brook
Through thine mirrors glassy eye
Take instead a closer look
You shall find you cannot deny
And finally you too can see
All I have come to see in thee

Dear Tamino,
Who would have thought it? In the beginning, it was only my wife who wanted you and then you quickly became, alongside her, my most important friend and most loyal companion.
Together we walked thousands, no - even tens of thousands of kilometres across meadows, through forests and up mountains. You always listened to me, whether I was laughing, crying or just talking. And I always talked to you a lot. Even if you never answered, it was always as if you understood me.
You always followed me, even when the path became increasingly difficult for you. I'm thinking in particular of the densely overgrown forest floors, where the wild brambles caused you a few problems. But that never stopped you from standing exactly where I stood.
You had many rough edges, just like all of us, but that's what made you such a special dog that will never be seen again.
I could write so much more now, because we experienced so damn much, but I just cry too much when I call up my memories.
The last few days and weeks have been very intense and we have spent much more time together than perhaps in the time before and I am so glad to have done so.
Two weeks ago, on Saturday 19 April, all three of us (Dexter, you and I) were still out in the forest and everything was as usual. You were slower and had your problems, but who would have thought that 6 days later you would no longer be with us. Although you still are and always will be.
I thank you for every moment we spent together over the past 12 years. I was always afraid of this moment and now I know why. A part of me is now empty and my heart is a little bit broken. They say you are so-called ‘life stage companions’, but you are so much more.
You've just gone ahead now, I'm sure we'll meet again.
Your ‘master’ Stefan

I wish I could remember this guy's name... he's a family friend of a family friend and a really cool guy...
That is, he was at the time.
I can't believe I took this in the late 1980s. Seems like just a couple of years ago.
Where does the time go?

So awhile ago I posted some pics of my Sleeping Beauty woodland friends but I was still in search of an owl. Next thing I know I've been gifted with a Sleeping Beauty owl by the very kind and considerate (not to mention talented) Elros Alvar. Thank you so much!

April 22, 2015 on our trip to the blipmeet at Wanaka, Central Otago in New Zealand.
Oamaru was our stop for lunch and we had it in the new Steampunk cafe. After lunch I had a quick walk around Oamaru's Harbour Historic Area before heading down south.
After seeing Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (terrible movie! don't waste your time and money!) on Sunday, the handsome-best-man-at-our-wedding Mr.K (the one who isn't my husband), the handsome-and-talented husband and I went to meet B and Y for dinner... We went to Wing Kee's in Chinatown and ordered a ridiculous amount of food! We stuffed ourselves silly...
Afterwards we went to a bar nearby to hang out and had fresh mint tea...
Can you see my little friend that joined me? She was there for quite a while during the stacking. I think she might have thought it was a little nest she could make her home for the night, or maybe even the winter!

Not long after beginning the drive into the National Elk Refuge around Jackson, Wyoming, we came across this lone bald eagle. I was lucky my friend had a Sigma 150-500mm. My first chance to actually use it or something similar. Having seen long reach type lenses during a trip to Yellowstone, I'd been very interested in one. I will tell you that keeping steady isn't easy but having Sigma's OS is very nice!
Anywho, to the image. Bald eagle seemingly guarding a carcass. Probably of an elk. When we came back later, a raven was flying around the bald eagle. For this image capture, I loved the colors of the bald eagle against the yellow/brown of the winter grass. A nice contrast.
