Happy Caturday!!
Frida, 1 of 2 of our "adopted" cats. we have decided to adopt our son's cats as it has become increasingly apparent that shipping them to australia to be with our son has become too problematic. we had considered placing them with another family, but we fell in love with them while serving as their "foster" parents ;-)

Salimos a dar nuestro paseo diario, hacia tanto calor que se tumbo a la fresca en una sombra que encontró, no pude evitar sacar el móvil y retener ese momento.
A portrait of my beloved Frida.
Have a wonderful weekend and Caturday!

The beauty and the challenge of working with f/1.4. The focus in the eyes is amazing in my opinion but everything else is blurry. What do you think about it?
Happy Saturday, dear friends!

Her heavy black "eyebrows" always reminded us of the renowned Mexican painter, Frida Kahlo.

WAH are visiting
Frida Kahlo y Diego Rivera
We have many Frida murals here in NM but this one is closest to me,
On the street where I live we have a new restuaurant called Bedrock Kitchen and they have this rather fabulous painting of Frida wearing her 505 T while enjoying a taco.
Burque (pronounced "Booed-Kay") is slang for city of Albuquerque. The term refers to Burqueños meaning people from Albuquerque.
Also for 119 Works of art:123 pictures in 2023
(T shirt 505 refers to 505 the area phone code)

Frida Kahlo to Diego Rivera:
Diego:
Truth is, so great, that I wouldn’t like to speak, or sleep, or listen, or love. To feel myself trapped, with no fear of blood, outside time and magic, within your own fear, and your great anguish, and within the very beating of your heart. All this madness, if I asked it of you, I know, in your silence, there would be only confusion. I ask you for violence, in the nonsense, and you, you give me grace, your light and your warmth. I’d like to paint you, but there are no colors, because there are so many, in my confusion, the tangible form of my great love.

Mexican artist Frida Kahlo is remembered for her self-portraits, pain and passion, and bold, vibrant colors. She is celebrated in Mexico for her attention to Mexican and indigenous culture and by feminists for her depiction of the female experience and form.
Kahlo, who suffered from polio as a child, nearly died in a bus accident as a teenager. She suffered multiple fractures of her spine, collarbone and ribs, a shattered pelvis, broken foot and a dislocated shoulder. She began to focus heavily on painting while recovering in a body cast. In her lifetime, she had 30 operations.
