False Creek is a short inlet in the heart of Vancouver. It separates downtown from the rest of the city. It was named by George Henry Richards during his Hydrographic survey of 1856-63. George Richards named False Creek during his survey of the coast in the mid-19th century. While traveling along the south side of the Burrard Inlet, he thought he was traversing a creek; upon discovering his error, he gave the waterway its modern name. Wikipedia
The Granville Street Bridge is an eight lane bridge in Vancouver, British Columbia. It spans False Creek and is 27.4 metres above Granville Island.

It was a beautiful day and the sun was shining brightly, as we appreciated the beautiful blue scene before us. With the textured rocks in the foreground, a jetty and pelicans in the water on the left... and the amazing clouds moving in the breeze; we walked with interest towards the seafood restaurant, an old boat shed building, all in aqua, which had such an old style atmosphere.
I captured this image at Port Macquarie, situated on the mid north coast of New South Wales, Australia early in 2012. Port Macquarie is a very popular holiday resort for both locals and tourists particularly in the summer months.

This is the seafood section at Sunset Super on Vicente Street. Sunset Super has two locations in San Francisco, and they cater to a mostly asian clientele. This location is quite a bit smaller than their other location on Irving Street so they don't have as much stuff. I love going into both locations.

I always try to visit local markets when I travel and took the opportunity to visit the large Mina Fish Market in Abu Dhabi in the UAE, where shoppers face a difficult choice when confronted with the large variety of fresh seafood brought in daily from the Persian Gulf. In this image a man in traditional UAE attire inspects the daily catch. He is wearing a thobe (locally called dishdash, a long white robe) with a keffiyeh (checked headscarf, also call ghutra) and igal (black cord).
saw this guy peddling seafood when i noticed something moving inside a bucket he was carrying. i checked to see what it was and voila, fresh crabs. here he is the peddler with his fresh sea crabs

The sweet taste of those lobsters, harvested in the cold waters of the Bay of Fundy, is all I need.

North Street Kitchen: Is an open plan, rustic, indoor/outdoor restaurant with a view of the Fowey estuary. A place where you can relax, eat some quality seafood, then head straight back to the beach. Their menu, written out rustic-style on a large blackboard, is packed full of produce from local fishermen and growers across Cornwall “All of the fish comes from Cornwall… One of our chefs is a part-time fisherman as well, so we’re able to use his catch too!”

Hokkaido - the northern island of Japan - is a foodies paradise.
Hokkaido has many farms, growing local produce, as well as having abundant fresh seafood.
Hokkaido is known for its fresh sushi, uni (sea urchin), ikura (salmon roe), hotate (scallops), kani (crab - king crab and hairy crab), sea snails, corn, potatoes, melons, tomatoes, dairy products, ice-cream, chocolates, and all types of cakes and baked foods.
The world famous (and world expensive) Yubari Melons (cantaloupes) originate from Hokkado.
In the photo above, my dinner is sea urchin and salmon roe (eggs) on a bed of steamed rice (uni ikura donburi) and crab leg miso soup. Beer is produced locally in Otaru.

If you have read Island of Sea Woman by Lisa See, then you will understand this photo. The women divers are still active, though very low in numbers. The catch from the sea is as fresh as can be! Pick something live from the catch and bring it into the restaurant adjacent and there is your meal!

These yummy oysters. It’s my favourite because no cooking is required.

The great thing about going to the East Coast of Malaysia, other than salty breezes that greet you on the coastal roads, is of course the abundance of fresh seafood. Otak-otak fat with fresh fish, daily caught squid dipped in batter then fried, superb keropok lekor and of course "nasi dagang" or simply translates to "traders' rice". Mmm... lovely white glutinous rice with a splash of light curry usually made with tongkol (a local tuna) and some acar. I always preferred the Terengganu kind rice white instead of speckled brown like the Kelantanese version and not as rich. Plus the curry is sligtly spicier. True, having such a heavy breakfast might make you redundant for the rest of the day but given the languid pace, you can afford to indulge a little.

A delightful way to spend a morning in Paris is to start with a visit to the Pantheon and then wander down to the street markets at the south end of Rue Mouffetard where you can buy fresh-baked baguettes, a selection of meats and cheeses, fresh produce and a bottle of French wine before heading over to the Luxembourg Gardens for a picnic lunch.
