The steep slopes of the Scheuchenberg belong to the Danube rim quarry between Regensburg and the eastern border of the district. They are covered with sparse oak forests which were formerly managed as coppice forest.
The growth of the trees is poor. In many cases the trees only reach heights of 10 to 15 m. In extremely shallow and steep locations, the forest is at the drought determined limits of beech's distribution and only very sparse stands of stunted oak thrive.

Fern leaves with water droplets in natural light
Hojas de helecho con gotas de agua en luz natural
Close-up of fresh green fern leaves covered with fine water droplets, captured under natural side light against a deep dark background. The image highlights botanical texture, organic repetition and the visual rhythm of segmented fronds. Moisture, shadow and saturation shape a quiet study of living structure in wild vegetation.

I have just tried googling these berries and forgot what they are called 🤔
These leaves are holding fast to their lush summer foliage and this shot has not had any added saturation btw..there was another woodland found yesterday with more of these berries and the ground was quite damp and in the Lincolnshire wolds too. Quite amazing as the fruits appear in autumn yet the foliage is almost spring like !
Found it….
