This morning, I made a new friend. I was on the upstairs level of the #Loblaws Superstore on St. Clair and I happened on Jimmy, who was skilfully playing the most haunting piece on the piano. After complimenting him, he told me his story.
Jimmy is a schizophrenic who has found his passion in teaching troubled youth how to play piano at the clinic he attends at Queen and Lansdowne. He came midtown at the invitation of a Superstore manager, telling him about the piano upstairs and that he was free to play it anytime.
Kudos to Loblaws for giving Jimmy a safe place to play - I definitely have a reason to return and do my weekly shop there. #lifeisgood #freelancelife #toronto #stclairwest
One of my new favorite things to do while concepting is to go to Soho in the middle of the day, find a bench outside a store and people watch. so *SO good.
