Is it a crow? Though the bird resembles a crow, it looks like a freak!
The plumage is mostly brown with streaks of white on the tail and wings.
The eye is brown, unlike the black of a crow.
And the most baffling feature is the curved upper beak…totally unlike a crow…!
A mutant?!! Or an old crow!??

I DID catch the kitty at the gas station!TODAY!! She is scared and dirty, hungry and thirsty. She is here in New Orleans with me but will travel to Alabama with me and the three dogs when we go. That should be interesting! I have a very large soft side carrier for the trip. A dramatic arctic chill swept across the northeast U.S. this weekend, with a fast-moving front of dark, rolling clouds, a stark contrast against the otherwise sunny day. The marina opened for the season on May 1st, and there were a few sailboats out on the bay, but the biting wind and plummeting temperatures made it too uncomfortable to stay. At home, the sun was shining, but there was sleet falling. In New Jersey and further east on Long Island there was some snow accumulation. Freak weather for May; strange times, indeed.
