Above the source of the river...capturing some autumn light

Near the summit of Black Point (6959 ft.) is an area cracked with deep (30 - 50 Ft.) fissures. Thirteen thousand years ago this was a Volcano beneath a shallow ice age lake. The water levels dropped and the volcano became an island and then a peninsula. Parts of the sides of the fissures are covered with a layer of crystalline tufa (Thinolitic tufa). In the background are the Sierra Nevada Mountains and a portion of Mono lake can be seen. Mono county, California, U.S.A.

A collab with the always unique Sushi! A great laugh working with you as always my dear!😉🙏

As with my previous photograph, "Fractured Reality I", this has been reassembled from the sections of yesterday's photograph of ancient rocks. They are similar, but noticeably different.

Just a bit of color blending with the Monarch wing and a fractured reflection I came across in NYC a few years back. All the best on this fine Sunday, Happy Slider Sunday.

The heavens opened shortly after this picture was taken, I ended up drenched in this!

This is how it feels to live in Melbourne at the moment. It is not a commentary on which side of the political divide I support but about the fractures along political lines and ideology resulting in relentless vitriol and negativity that has fractured friendships and our once united city (and Country).

At the beginning it was all about standing together -bipartisan leadership and co-operation. Didn't take long for it to deteriorate into political point scoring at our expense.

This image just evolved and I guess I'm not sure it works. I took it from a bridge over-looking the freeway last year. Looking at it and the view of Melbourne town, just got me thinking about how much I love it and how broken it feels right now.

We will come back and be whole again. The talk of the move to mostly outdoor dining as has happened successfully in other countries even got me alittle excited this morning. You know how I love fairy lights.

Sometimes wonderful, long lasting ideas and new ways to do things arise from tragedies and I am sure that will happen in Melbourne as it will across the world. We just need to stop the cracks getting too big.
