I found this note on top of a trash can I was emptying at the store. It's written on the yellow notepads we used at the store for inventories and such. I wonder if an employee put it there or a customer using the same kind of notepad.

"La Lunaphant" is a mysterious elephant that only appears under a full moon, especially a very gear-looking moon. It scours the earth in search of WD-40 to keep its joints well-oiled.

Found a frame next to the tapes. White marker on blue felt. A homeless man was sleeping next to where I was drawing - I didn't see him and he scared the shit out of me, hence the sloppy fat bear.

Rock climbing? Maintain three points of contact! Working at height? Climbing or descending stairs? Yeah, the same, three points… For a blow-moulded plastic horse? Three points of contact looks like it's working for this one!

You what? Found a blow-moulded plastic horse? Among the bronze Rodins and steel Gormley Angel of the North Maquette? I might have made a mistake!

When is a plastic toy a misplaced treasure? Is it a found object? Was it discarded? An objet d'art, or an installation?

Three points of contact is a safety mantra. Ought I play it safe, take that lesson into this discussion? Am I on Candid Camera, security camera…? Is this a blow-up Banksy-style social statement about loss of innocence, redemption, the evils of globalisation, live and let live? Am I overthinking it — cogito, ergo sum? Artists statements do it all the time, "they" say. I don't even know who the shadowy "they" are.

Play it safe! Just walk away. If it is art, this photo might be famous as its first discoverer. If it's a kids lost toy, it might help them find it… Maybe it's a rocking, ridin' rodeo — a horse's "Rs"?
