Our first non severe thunderstorms of the 2016 season.

I've been itching to get out to capture some Nebraska stormscapes. I was totally satisfied with that afternoons storm front that passed through about 6:30pm.

Not bad for my first batch of storm captures 2016!

This days chase was coming to and end as the storms were gaining strength but I was already out of my element of light.

Final captures for the evening were taken just south of the I-80 interchange as I was heading back to Kearney.

Within the final rays of light we caught some good views of the denaturing storm cell I was chasing most of the day

On the open plains of Nebraska...

August was a GEM month for severe storm structure. Folks... I didn't miss a beat.

Pure Eye Candy this one is. Open air supercells developing right as the dry line passed over us in South Central Nebraska.

I wasn't going to get underneath this one though it was close. I could have chased it, but I wanted to get the structure that day. Oh I got what I came for!

I had planned accordingly. Knowing that the storm was going to pass as it rapidly developed to the due east. I waited for bit under the hail core before I got into position to capture this storm.

Building Billowing Beautiful updrafts on the back side of this storm were memorizing. Perfect Supercell structure.

This Day's pressure cooker was in session. Lot's of gulf moisture to play with. With that in mind, Mother Nature had some plans for us that afternoon. Of Course, I was prepared. Knew this situation was going to give us some excellent severe weather views that afternoon. I was on the Hunt!

Alerts & Alarms were firing right after 2:00pm as I headed west from Kearney. Severe Thunderstorm warnings had been issued to my southwest by Arapahoe & Holdrege Nebraska. Coming directly from Furnas & Phelps Counties this storm was packing a heavy punch for October.

Pulled up & onto 1 of the bluffs just north of Elm Creek Nebraska. Nice view over the Platte Valley as this nasty bugger came to play! Would eventually catch 2 tornadoes this day... Which is rare. Glad I had the time to capture this event! It was a Hoot!

Though all of our planning had us hoping for an epic chase day, but mother nature had other plans...

Traveled to western Nebraska to wait for the initiation of severe storms either in the Northeast section of Colorado or where the cape and moisture signatures were predicted for that afternoon and evening. We had our hopes up. The CAP would prevent any development of storms for us that day...

We had to move from eastern Colorado down to Northwest Kansas. Where....Finally thunderstorm initiation started just to the south of St. Francis Kansas.

After it was obviously over... no storms to chase & now the long drive home. There were storms firing out in Western Nebraska and was an incredible view of them on the way back north into Nebraska.

Not many pics from this set but it was good pickens for a bust chase day!

It was the reason why I got into storm photography. It has taken years of practice to capture it without a lightning trigger. Patients is the Key. But when it happens you have to be ready. It doesn't stay around for very long.

Had the equipment locked and stocked. Knew the storm was coming and wala... It took til August 2021 to do but finally some incredibly good and wicked lightning!

A long jaunt... 1200+ mile trip to see some clouds. But every second was worth it. Mother Nature wasn't going to be fickle on this day...

Had an invite to tag along with Trent Bosler and & Freddy McKinney down to chase the huge risk day down on the south west edge of Oklahoma. It paid off in dividends. 2 great people that I haven't had a chance to chase with before. Trent Bosler (with SVLMedia) & Freddy McKinney, and young and talented up and coming chaser. Both of these 2 gentlemen have refined skills on chasing storms. I went as an observer this day as I don't get this opportunity very much as I would like. To study how others do thing when it comes to storm chasing. Navigation, safety practices, and predictions. Believe me when I say I learned something about someone else's process, I did. Grateful that I got to come along and I respectfully learned from both of them. Things that I will take back and teach others that want to chase.

Late afternoon when we got to our destination. We stopped and got something to munch on @ Subway in Mangum. We had about an hour before the storm we were observing moved out the Childress Texas area and cross the border into southwest Oklahoma. We knew where we wanted to be and got to a location southwest of Mangum Oklahoma and patiently awaited out the outcome. We didn't have to wait long.

Initial reports indicate that the tornado had winds up to 212 miles per hour, making it an EF-4 or EF-5 tornado. A large debris cloud could be seen with this tornado as it moved through open fields. It caused some damage to homes and trees, but it missed the heart of the community & the chaser convergence...

New cells were beginning to develop along the front. Also to the west and southwest. Had to back track a bit as these were slow developers.

Still with severe warnings from them, but they didn't seem that threatening to me. Though Photographically these were just beginning. Had to wait for just a bit before the 2nd round started.

We had severe storms southwest tracking southeast of us on the Nebraska Kansas border. My truck was in the shop, so there was no storm chasing this day... My wife & I were just chillin at our sons baseball game, these mammatus clouds started to roll in from the due south which was the entire sky view in 360.

Mammatus Clouds are generally an indicator of severe wind shear in a cloud formation. There was plenty here that evening, as severe weather was developing just to east of Kearney Nebraska stretching all the way south into Northern Kansas. 2 tornadoes reported just south of Hasting Nebraska, and another south of Wilcox.

Since Kearney was on the outer rim of the severe weather, we just had wave after waves of these incredible mammatus clouds!

Strong and severe storms cells now moving to the southwest from Custer County as I only had about an hour of sunlight left. I sure wasn't going to miss this opportunity!

I was on the hunt once again for some photographic thunderstorm fun pics.. Just had to catch up to the cell as it was now building and almost moving due south.

Now for anybody that does chase... personal note, I would not recommend Hwy 21 south into Dawson County. To many hills, and no real opportunistic places to pull over and take some good shots. Simply I got lucky. This storm was already in Beast Mode, and I wasted some precious time looking for places to stop and take some pics....as the sun was setting and I was losing light fast.

This set of images were few... It was extremely hot that day. 102 on the thermometer and 112 on heat index. I squeezed every drop of

photographic energy that afternoon.

Finally my new camera and lens were in hand after I had smashed the last one a few week prior. I knew we were bound to get some pulse storms before the severe storms popped on the Nebraska Kansas Border. I couldn't resist to get out. I had missed a few opportunists that past week.

I still wasn't feeling good, in fact my condition would get much worse before better. So simply no chasing that afternoon. Equipment charged and ready to go. A time lapse was on for that afternoon. A few hours of footage from a distance... Oh I took a few snaps also!

A 2 day chase out on the plains of Wyoming. Just seeing some of the incredible landscapes with cloudscapes was worth every minute of this weather adventure. We have had early success in years past when I've ventured out here before but the days here this year in 2020... mother nature had different plans.

Had a good moderate risk days planned and the storms both days did produce tornadoes but getting close doesn't count. As you all know, catching the tornado is not everything. There is always more. To be honest I'm not disappointed. The trip out was fun and we did get some good storms to video and photograph.

This will be the first year about 6 years that I haven't caught a Nader in the month of May. 2020 is and has been a hard year to predict what mother natures going to do. Maps Models and everything we do to plan and prep had to be tossed out the window. Sometimes this works sometimes it doesn't.

I can't complain... I got to go storm chasin....

I was seriously late the game on this storm. But I was never out of the game. I had missed a few of the other tornados that afternoon in Northern Yuma County. Coming from south to north I had to position myself correctly. Chaser Convergence was also in full swing so there were not may open areas to choose from.

For best pics of a Tornado and to be safe about it a storm such as this was moving North by Northeast... strategically, you want to be to the south east, southwest for the best light... Behind the RFD (Rear Flank Downdraft) It's all about timing, and I honestly didn't think it would produce a tornado til it was well west of my location. That was going to be the wrong guess... Though when I went due north of Wray I had a good viewing point but not in the safest location as you see.

I got lucky this day as...In my opinion, I found a perfect view, looking due south southeast. I ended up on the northwest side of the rotation. Dangerous yes...but this will eventually give me one excellent view of this tornado and all her glory.

Staying as safe as I could I wouldn't bail till it was about a mile away then I would head north again to a safer / better viewing position.

*** Editor Notes ***

Greetings Everyone, I haven't posted many new pics since last chase season and the 2020 Severe Weather Season is upon us. Looking for our first set of storms in the coming weeks and I'll be streaming live and of course some of the best storm photography one could ask for.

2020 Update...I've been revamping how I do things. One of those things is to go back and correct how I did my post processing of images. Several Years of over Colorizing over Saturation Adding color... etc. Yes I'm guilty of doing so and I have been going back and replacing thousands of images in hundreds of sets over these past few months here on Flickr my Fine Arts America Site.

The May 7, 2016 Colorado Tornado Event was by far one of my favorite chase days to date. I was able to capture the full genesis of a tornado. From birth to death. It was a quest of mine to do this in a photography medium. Epic severe weather structure, like once in a lifetime structure to capture. But post processing was a nightmare. The images came out well ... Defined but over colored over saturated etc.

Instead of replacing the images this will be a whole new set with a few hundred new images that I didn't post on the original set back in 2016. I've thought about re-editing these images for a long time and they are finally done. No Altercations what so ever. No Added Light, Color, Contrast.

I've brought them directly from RAW. Simply the way I should have done it in the first place!

Finally a good chase day I can brag about....

A moderate risk day in South Central Nebraska, with storm forming on the western side of Dawson County & counties due south and southwest.

The first batch of storms were over and the severe warnings now were all pushing north northeast. I pushed down to Overton & the I-80 Interchange as strong new cells were developing to my southwest.

I stopped a few times by Overton to get some nice captures from the back side of the storm cells that were departing before the next cells moved in.

"Stacked Plates" is storm chasers jargon for us to describe a strongly striated mesocyclone! Oh this was a B E A U T Y!

Late August 2011. This was a LP (Low Precip) Storm, and she didn't drop an ounce of rain. If anything did come down it evaporated before it hit the ground. It was so damn hot and humid and was just happy the sun was blocked out by the clouds and then this came along. Along with the severe warning it had on it a few counties north of my location as it moved south.

You can clearly see the mid-level inflow bands. Better known as striations. These were so well defined it was jaw dropping!

When the storm got close enough I couldn't really see or verify a wall cloud of any type. We had a few lowerings, but nothing significant to get me to report it. So I really can't call this a supercell. But it sure was fun one to witness!

Heading south from Trenton Nebraska down to Atwood Kansas via Hwy 25....

Was simply a white knuckle drive. Nothing but straight line winds and big hail. Couldn't see anything in front of us. 10 feet was the maximum visibility. Hydroplaning due to the amount of water on the road we had to slow way down to stay safe. It was the last of the day for core punching. It takes some nerves of steel to do what I did that day.

Though I remained calm during this part of the trip the rewards for the final jaunt to get back in front of these emerging storm cells was worth the trip.

Localized flooding and several trees down in Atwood Kansas. The main part of this cell was due east about 10 miles. We didn't take long to get to our destination on beautiful plains of Kansas. One more chance for some incredible structure before we called it a day of storm chasing...

It has been an excellent start to the 2016 chase Season. Bonus was, that I had the day off and no commitments except for storm chasing. I was set for an Epic Day!

I ended up with well over 700 pic from this storm chasing event, but I've skimmed it down to about 100+. Truly this will become some of my best severe weather photography to date...

I was seriously late the game on this storm. But I was never out of the game. I had now positioned myself just to the North of Wray Colorado.

Strategically, you want to be to the south east, southwest for the best light... It's all about timing, and I thought it wouldn't produce till it was well west of my location. Giving me that perfect view of the backside rotation of the storm.

In my opinion, I found a perfect view, looking due south southeast. I ended up on the northwest side of the rotation. Dangerous yes...but this will eventually give me one excellent view of this tornado and all her glory.

Our Severe Weather seasons is coming to a close. One last severe weather setup and it would be worth our time to chase.

We were in a moderate risk that afternoon with a 5% chance of tornadoes. Warnings had already been issued for Dawson County just off to our west.

Didn't have to wait very long a Tornado Warning was issued and we had just got to our area to setup and were pointing due southwest.

The video is a close up of what we saw that day. So one might be able to see the actual distance we were away from this storm from these images.

Get to close and all you get is grey and no structure. No photographic value of a storm. To far away and you can't get the detail. So to you have to find that perfect spot and we did that afternoon!

Almost late June 2020, and the severe weather season has been just down right horrible for anything of photographic value this year. I mean this when I say Chase Locally. Due to Health issues, Truck maintenance issues, Equipment Issues, Camera Issues... With all that has been going on in my life, I've had to pick my chasing days and nights carefully this year. To be 100% Honest... I'm just happy I get to chase! Never let bad things set you back when the opportunity presents itself. That's my motto!

Luckily I had all my gear ready to go when when had strong severe thunderstorms develop in north central Nebraska and they were cresting southward down to south central Nebraska. My home turf.

This time of year is when everything changes weather wise here in south central Nebraska. Monsoons down in the southwest part of the US are firing and that usually means for us no storms. Not in 2020. Even though we had a late start to severe weather season here... mother nature hasn't let me down so far. She has remained active in my neck of the woods.

All the storms this day were outflow boundary generated storms. Meaning no tornadoes this day. Though I did capture 1 funnel, you'll see this in the video. Though with outflow dominate storms shelf clouds form and they can be more than picturesque. Its what I was hunting for this day! Oh did I get some and then some!

Solo Chase Day & Close to Home....

Luv it when the chases are in my backyard. Not having to drive 3 states and 1200 miles in 1 day is relief. I know I'm not the only chaser that says that. This was a phenomenal afternoon of severe weather. When I say this... It means that its photogenic & for the most part not effecting the farms, agriculture, livestock & the human element.

Mammatus before the storm, then I decided to bail on this first storm for the next which was to the north about 25 miles. This storm had wicked good rotation under the base. Even though it was high based it was producing some freakin awesome views.

The storm had overtaken my position and I had a 40 min drive to get back in front of this storm. It was on my tail the whole way back to the I-80 corridor. Though a little late I was still able to get back in front of shelf cloud. The teeth on the outflow were almost scraping the ground. It gave the effect of a funnel but it was not. Been doing this to long to make sure I know the difference.

That was a hoot. Though I waited til the last minute. I got swallowed by the core & had to wait it out. Want to see what its like out in the open with no shelter... This I have also done a billion times. 50mph winds rocked my truck! That was fun!

Finally, I blazed it backed to Kearney for this Storms Finale... Beautiful Sunset light illuminates the exiting storm with a Anvil Rain & Mammatus Cluster ... It was truly a Sight to See!!!!

Hot, Humid, just the way I like it. Developing pulse storms to our northwest that late evening. Its what brought me out and about.

Again these Nebraska Skies were talking. What I thought would be a normal beautiful billowing cloud Nebraska sunset, turned out to be a majestic night of light, mammatus, and shadow.

True Nebraska Stormscape Eye Candy! Enjoy!!!

After the tornadoes in south central Nebraska that afternoon. Storms were still percolating and still severe enough to produce what I'm looking for... That wouldn't happen again that day... Oh the structure on those severe storms were truly photogenic. Some of the best Nebraska outflow boundaries of 2018 were in my viewfinder that day.

Though sick as a dog, I proceeded east and stayed ahead of these cells in case they produced again. These storm cells wouldn't give me any more Naders that afternoon, but it sure was fun to follow these remaining storm cells.

South Central Nebraska, early May 2012. No chasing this day due to work late. Afternoon Storms were predicted that afternoon & evening. Slow movers they were to be.

Off work & I was in luck. The dryline had stalled right over south central Nebraska that afternoon & the explosion of billowing thunderheads erupted. Billowing picturesque Thunderheads. Some of the most photogenic cells I caught in 2012.

Wicked Photogenic Severe Storms developing just to my east and & another batch of developing severe storms right over my head & moving the northeast. What a afternoon of Light & Severe Storms... Click Click Click!!!!

Late July 2023...

This month of storms was just down right jaw dropping. Why not continue since we didn't have any storms in May or June! Overtime for July is the way I like it!

90% of the time of year in South Central Nebraska is Hot & Humid. It is normally the beginning of our dry season. But not in 2023.

In the path of the Jet Stream that day that forced some severe thunderstorm development over south central Nebraska. We were not excepting anything super severe but a tornado or 2 is always possible this time of year.

Gear Primed & excited about the views I'm going to get for this event that day. I knew they were going to be photogenic.

Watch the Video from that evenings final pics of Sunset & Mammatus Clouds from August 13, 2019 on Flickr Click Here

We had a long drive back to home! Behind the storm that afternoon was a full lit sky of mammatus cloud. We had to wait for the sun to peek out behind the clouds but that is when the real magic happened. The sky at dusk was simply epic!

An experienced... storm chaser knows that after the storm is one of the most photogenic parts of the storm. Some of the best shots I've ever taken have been on the backside of a thunderstorm. I call them Thundersets!

Now...if your not a storm chaser and one is patient enough to wait for the base of the storm to move with the limits of the sunset light. Special things can happen, have your camera ready there is always some magic happening!

This was that experience. There is no place like Nebraska!

Unpacked and gear out close to home as a non severe thunderstorm approached from the due south of Kearney Nebraska. Just on the outskirts of the city just to the east of Kearney High school .

A few pics that didn't make it to my Flickr Photostream in 2020. So I'm adding them now.

I do so much sky photography and at that time of year when I take these, they sometimes get lost within the fold. So at the end of each year I find a few that are worthy of being posted!

Another Incredible Nebraska Skyscape. Beautiful July ambient light, against a dying thunderstorm. Nope it's not severe but it's what I do when the light is right. Plus, I was super sick... A few days away from being forced into the hospital. I'm better now, and thankful.. that's a story to come!

I honestly took extra time on these captures. I was using a new filter on my new lens. So no added color or any adjustments to the image in Photoshop on this set. Now I had to bring them through Photoshop from raw... but that's it and of course the pano's are done separately.

Also... I only had one camera...for video that evening. Otherwise you would have seen this first storm cross over and you would have seen some sweet Nebraska thunderstorm views. Just to the east southeast. July Mammatus... these are just as sweet as this video... Just captures though...These have been added to this set.

It seemed the sicker I got, the better the photography I took... It was only about 10 days till I was forced into the hospital. I shouldn't have been out. But you don't get captures like this if you don't go try to catch them...

I was sick but had a blast, and what I caught was just Awesome!

An Epic Chase Day was upon us. Though the rest of the Nation was celebrating the Holiday. National Weather Service had us pegged for a moderate risk that afternoon & evening. Due to my injures to my back the past few months. Chasing Storms has been on the back burner... Until Now!!!

First cells of the day were in North Central Kansas. The boundary line was from North Central Kansas up to Norfolk Nebraska & a bit further north. All the action that day was going to be the east of Hastings Nebraska & South. Planned it out correctly for time & distance.

We encountered this incredible updraft structure on the back side of this storm as we were passing though Hastings Nebraska. Were were trying to catch up to it Via Hwy 6 & we eventually we did just to the east to Sutton Nebraska.

This storm was producing 2" hail so we held off a few mins to the the west of Sutton. We had perfect view of the wall cloud due southwest of the hail core. Had a nice tail but never formed.

Proceeded south to get south of revved up supercell. We got along side of it via Hwy 81 south of Geneva Nebraska. Few miles south of Strang Nebraska we got ahead of the rain core & got in sight (paralleled to this storm) of this incredible developing wall cloud under the base of this storm. It did not produce a tornado but the views from this supercell were down right spectacular.

We had to reposition ourselves a few miles south of Bruning Nebraska as this Supercell move south southeast. The video & images I caught that afternoon were worth the trip. Phenomenal Storm Captures out on the plains of South Central Nebraska on the 4th of July.

Made it home to light of some fireworks & delicious bbq. Nice end to this day with family & friends after this Epic Storm Chasing Day!

This was taken just to the south of Overton Nebraska. This severe storm cell was aggressive. When I approached it was already tornado warned and it would be the start to one of the most photogenic days of 2011 for my storm photography.

What your viewing here is a classic example of what we call in storm chasing the RFD (Rear Flank Downdraft)

The rear flank downdraft or RFD is a region of dry air wrapping around the back of a mesocyclone in a supercell thunderstorm. These areas of descending air are thought to be essential in the production of many supercellular tornadoes.

It's not called the lazy days of summer for nothing... Hot, Humid, and Dry... That's August in Nebraska. Without any front to push. Late summer storms cells develop, linger and are mostly slow movers. Just like these cells on that day.

Had to boogie on south.....

One of the finest things about Nebraska is her landscapes. When I was young, I hated the open plains, now I thrive for them. Beautiful, I don't know why, but it moves me to take these captures.

Sitting on Hwy 183 with not a soul in sight, I had the perfect perspective.

Right on the Nebraska / Kansas Border

NWS had the severe weather events for that day were to be about 200 miles to the east of south central Nebraska. Though we still had a risk of severe weather, but with the 100 Temps and lots of moisture to work with... it was bound to happen.

Finally, after waiting for a extremely slow train crossing Hwy 136 west, we were able to get south of Red Cloud Nebraska. Met up with some other chasers and we all were going to go follow the leading severe warned cells in central Kansas. Low and behold the cell just south of Red Clouds had just went into a warning. Can you say right place.... Right Time!

This was simply the best structured cell that I have caught up this season for tornadic activity. This cell did not produce a tornado, but it had rotation, hail, and torrential rain. Eye Candy for the Storm Chaser in mind....

Another Moderate Risk day... but I'm the one taking the risk as I started my day in west central Kansas. Though just my luck all the action was in my backyard in south central Nebraska that afternoon. I should have stayed local...

Storm development was spotty at best, and the first storm was the best of the day, though I did get into some action once back into southwest Nebraska... I wasn't disappointed...

After some incredible thunderstorm structure south of Ansley Nebraska, I got pounded with quarter sized hail, horizontal rain and wind gust up to 50mph. There were times that I couldn't see 10 feet in front of the truck, but I pushed on.

Had some incredible lighting after pulling out the south end of this storm cell. But in the heat of the moment, I didn't have the camera in focus and about a 100 shots came out lame. I didn't know this at that time.... I was truly disappointed in myself, not checking settings. Its was one of those basic fundamentals.

I did get a chance to redeem myself as I pulled onto Hwy 40 east just outside of Miller Nebraska. The storm was still building as it was cresting northeast. Shooting off tons of cc lightning. I pulled off the side of the road to end of a day of some great storm chasing photography.

Had to get north as the wind speeds over 70mph were creating a ruckus on the drive north. Eventually I was able to get out in front of the base of the storm and once again get in front of this beast.

45 miles wide, almost from horizon to horizon, it was spectacular to see live. Though I didn't have much time left due to the sun setting but what I did catch was simple surreal!

June 2020 coming to a close. Though mother nature is just ramping up storms out here on the plains of Nebraska.

Another afternoon of severe weather and parts of Central and South Central Nebraska would be under the gun later that evening. Gear ready and packed we were off for another Severe Weather Adventure!

Though the storms we wanted to catch that afternoon decided to form and then weaken then form to our due north northwest again for the afternoon. Too far north for us to chase as they were developing and moving fast northwest.

Caught would we could for that afternoon and waited for the lightning fest that would be to the southeast and east of Kearney. No direct intercept this day... But mother nature was talking...

Next stop was just to the west of Haigler Nebraska. Where there is no cell reception ... which means no radar data and no calls. Had to do this old school, which is fine by me. I didn't have smart phones and or instant data for storms before 1995. Though my partner in training was a little concerned we had it covered!

Beautiful Nebraska Supercell structure impending into our area in Southwest Nebraska. Just over the border from the Colorado state line. Creeping slowly about 14 knots per hour. We would be in position to encounter this tornado warned storm for the 3rd time this day.

Incredibly photographic structure from top to bottom on this cell. With all of our cameras focused on this event, can you say right place at the right time!

Now this is UN official. I have never went back to this date and searched for the NWS official report on this storm.

In my book of storm chasing rules, one cannot call it a tornado unless you see a debris field. I have this confirmed with these images and the video you see once all the images are posted.

Its been a few weeks of no storms in south central Nebraska, we decided to head west for a fun filled afternoon of severe weather! A moderate risk day with PDS warnings on the supercells that were were chasing that afternoon.

We knew where we wanted to chase and had planned it out perfectly. From Kearney to Scottsbluff NE. From Scottsbluff to Torrington Wy, and then Hwy 85 South. We ended up parked right under a 4g cell tower, close to the Hwy 85 & junction 216 with time to spare. Perfect position, perfect light, and we had perfect cell signal to stream this event live.

The DOW truck parked about a hundred yards in front of us and other chasers were now homing in on this storm. As we observed this rotation...this was just a tease, as this funnel would actually dissipate, but we wouldn't have to wait for long for the real thing.

***

Proud to say that this was my first time that my video stream was on the Weather Channel via StormViewLive.com and these were the photos that coincided with that day... The video is to long to post to Flickr, but it can be viewed via this link. goo.gl/m65rN4,

(This next video is NOT my video but via youtube user "The Weather Nutz" of this same storm but from the opposite view of mine... excellent video youtu.be/7dP6PI1zV5Q)

Spotters reported a Tornado approximately 2 miles east of Kearney. I was there, but there was no tornado. False reporting again... All I saw was gustnados as there were several, and I was exactly 2 miles east of Kearney Nebraska.

More than likely a false report to the weather service. I didn't see any funnel but the winds were ferocious, and there was so much ground derbies flying everywhere. At times, you couldn't see in front of you.
