Just having some fun with a rental car and my Sigma wide-angle lens. Photo taken the other night on US 41 South as I was leaving downtown Fort Myers, heading over to Estero, Florida.
I've been meaning to give this shot a try in my Volkswagen GTI, as it's dash is much more colorful than a Ford Fusion. I just need to find a smooth road first; one that is not covered in potholes. Not particularly an easy task in Northern Ohio!
Photography rule #1: Do NOT relinquish your SLR to your model(s)!!!!!
Check here to see how I got PUNK’D and to see what I was shooting at that exact moment.
Picture it: Washington, DC...2007...one of the most beautiful couples ever to be photographed by yours truly braves subfreezing temperatures in order to accommodate the beauty of outdoor natural light as opposed to extremely shoddy indoor photography skills of...well...yours truly. The photographer comes up with an (in hindsight, NUTS!) interesting idea:
"Do CLONE shots of the boyfriend taking pictures of the girlfriend (and vice versa) so that there are several clones of 'him' pretending to do a photo shoot of one 'her' with an SLR camera! Brrrrrrrrilliant!!" (get the cold pun? Brrrrrrrrr? I'm not funny).
Having never used an SRL, the couple asked it if was okay to actually press the shutter and shoot each other while they pose for the clone shot! How could I say no?!?! It'd probably result in great shots!
The photoshoot comes to an end and we retreat to the car so they can see the morning's shoot in the LCD screen before heading home. When this shot showed up, I had a flashback to what the boyfriend had said when they first arrived:
BF: "You know we're going to have to make sure to get some shots of "Photo Pete" taking pictures."
GF: "Yeeeeeah, definitely, that'd be hot!"
Uh Oh!
BF (as this shot shows up on the screen): "We told you we'd get you."
GF: "And you BETTER put this on Flickr too!!!"
Ah, lessons learned! But a promise is a promise! Thanks for a SUPER PHOTO SHOOT GUYS!!! Patience and they'll start to appear here.
Again with the totally unimaginative title, but yeah. Credit for that goes to Imogen. :P
This is just something from a couple weeks ago. Whenever I'm in a car I'm always extremely tempted to take shots like these, and they always turn out to be completely out of focus... Regardless, I like them for some reason. Soo, I decided to try out some processing and this is what I came up with.
Also, my style has been really schizophrenic lately. I went from some pretty intricate deeply saturated stuff, to extremely minimalist, to textured flowers... to... conceptual weirdness.
Oh, and HBW! For the second time today. :D
Judging by the AE plate, I'd imagine this probably belongs to an American soldier who was previously based in the UK. There's no sign of AE09 CYF on the DVLA website
Henry keeping an eye out..
Henry was rescued, rehomed and adopted into the Axe household on December 27th 2024.
Henry is a previously abandoned 'rescue cat' pure white kitty who has had a very difficult start to his life with a very long story behind his circumstances.
Henry is now completely safe in his new forever home and he doesn't need to worry about a thing anymore.
Henry was born circa 2022.
Congenital sensorineural deafness in white cats is very common however and thankfully Henry's hearing is perfect. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Congenital_sensorineural_deafness_i...

The Ford Mondeo is a large family car manufactured by Ford since 1993. The first Ford model declared as a "world car" ,the Mondeo was intended to consolidate several Ford model lines worldwide (the European Sierra, the Telstar in Asia and Australia, and the Tempo/Mercury Topaz in North America). After a relatively-long day of driving, followed by a very windy experience at L'Anse-aux-Meadows, we drove to our accommodations for that night: Burnt Cape Cabins in Raleigh. They look pretty simple on the outside, but they were very nice on the inside (pics to follow), and it was a welcome relief from the tight conditions of the tree house AirBnb (memorable as it was).
