Newstead Abbey At War.
Newstead Abbey provided an amazing event. Stalls, vintage vehicles, memorabilia, wartime songs, dancing and the incredible reenacment battle: Allies vs Axis Troops. Fantastic!

…WHO SAYS CANADA…couldn't party like it was 1999?!
Who says we can't do it in style?!
We did.
Look at this fabulous block of stamps produced for Canada Post: Postes Canada!
Looky at some of the airplanes that the RCAF once flew!!
Wondrous.
IF I could get unlimited blocks of these stamps I'd use them for all my mail…for the rest of my life!
No, foolin'.
Alas. (*sigh*) Not to be…
And just look at all the ROUNDELS the RCAF adopted for this, and that, time era!
Confused?
Well the RCAF, Canada's Air Force, has changed its military logo many times. For a complete explanation:
SEE "The Roundel Round-Up" at Vintage Wings of Canada:

Brought to you by Dave O'Malley of AEROGRAPHICS Creative Services!
(FOUR of these aircraft…were MADE IN TORONTO!)
Found myself just the other day
In the backyard of a friends place
Thinking about you
Thinking of the crowd you're in,
What you're up to, where you've been,
Just thinking...
You know the clothes that you wear, and the colour in your hair,
Shouldn't change you,
Now you tell me why is it so,
You're bigger than Mighty Joe
At least you think so
God my fingers burned,
Now when I think of touching your hair
You have changed so much that I don't know,
If I can call you, and tell you I care
And I would love to bring you down,
Plant your feet back on the ground
Threw my smoke down on the ground
Turned my head and I heard the sound, that reminded me
Of the days so young and sweet,
Always so much fun to me
At least I thought so
Now you think you're so damn fine,
You could rule the world,
No not mine,
I don't think so
God my fingers burned,
Now when I think of touching your hair,
You have changed so much, that I don't know,
If I can call you and tell you I care
You know the scene that you're in,
And the people that you've been with,
Just get to me
But you think I'm not as cool
As you are so beautiful,
Who you foolin?
Well I'm here to tell you babe,
The game you're in, is just a game
So damn pretentious
God my fingers burned,
Now when I think of touching your hair,
You have changed so much that I don't know,
If I can call you, and tell you I care
And I would love to bring you down,
Plant your feet back on the ground
You think you're so beautiful....So beautiful...♥

Keeping April 1 2017 interesting was CN 2427 (sporting new trucks) leading Q19991-31, seen here passing the site of the former CNW yard in Oshkosh, WI.
My creativity has been in the dumper for quite awhile. Trying to dig myself out of a hole.
Done in the camera, not Photo Shop, BTW.
No April foolin' around here! I caught wind that the 475 was leaving KC in the night with a pair of CN SD70M-2s, a CP GEVO, and several UP dash-8's destined for Relco in Albia. We expected the train to be into Ottumwa by sun-up, but it wasn't. I was quite disappointed.
I'd talked to a guy in the afternoon just after getting off of work and found out that it still hadn't made it to Ottumwa and that it should have set-out the motors at the APNC in Moravia.
I made the decision to follow the line until I found the train since I knew it had to be somewhat close. I got all the way to Moravia and saw the Trainmaster hanging out near the connection so I knew it still hadn't come. I continued south and was handsomely rewarded for my efforts here on a dead-end Level B road near Rathbun.
Consist included: CN 8943, CN 8815, CP 8892, UP 9328, UP 9323, UP 9325, UP 9351, and UP 9329.
Could he be waving from a tropical sunset? Feeling like a star, you can't stop my shine, I'm loving cloud nine, my head's in the sky.

GANATSEKIAGON CREEK.
At Concession 3, northside.
Deckers Hill, PICKERING.
Only THEN, back in 1957 and 1958, the area pictured above was A LAKE.
No, foolin’.
The “Hawkeye and The Last of The Mohicans” TV set’s lake.
NORMAMDIE PRODUCTIONS dammed the creek up so all the canoe scenes could be filmed right here.
AND Canada's HOLLYWOOD NORTH (now a multiBILLION dollar TV and FILM industry) began humbly, right here.
You’re looking at it—
LIGHTS, camera, action!
REMEMBER, THIS PARTICULAR TRIP BACK IN TIME was helped along because of the great research efforts of others, and the 'Hawkeye' fanship of others.
I learned that "Hawkeye", one of my fav boyhood TV shows, was actually filmed in CANADA through one of the links below.
So I had to check things out (go there), MYSELF, because of that.
Do check out these "Hawkeye and the Last of the Mohicans" links below!

This wallpaper is the result of foolin’ around with »Bello Pro« on a cold, gray winter day. »Bello«—the name of an »Underware« typeface—is the italian word for »beautiful«. »Underware« is the brand name of an outstanding Dutch type foundry.
Typeface in use:
Bas Jacobs, Akiem Helmling and Sami Kortemäki’s (Underware) brush-drawn, fashionable, lively script face »Bello Pro«.
Bello is a brush typeface for headline point sizes - it’s big & beautiful. Bello has lots of ligatures and start and ending swashes. They are automatic in Bello Pro, which is a cross-platform OpenType font with many OpenType features.
After a period of hand sketching and lettering, we decided to give Bello two main styles: script and small caps. These two fonts create a strong typographic contrast - while Bello Script is flourished and flowing, Bello Small Caps are upright and sturdy. As sturdy as brush lettering allows for, of course.
Careful spacing and kerning ensures that Bello appears like fluently written handwriting. However, that’s not enough for a hand-lettered feel. Therefore Bello comes with a set of 64 ligatures. Some of them are typographic, some made simply to create a more intimate, natural impression. For the same reasons we have added a few ornaments and a set of snap-on beginning and ending swashes which attach to the lowercase letters of Bello.

Plowing these fields in the hot summer sun
Over by the gate lordy here she comes
With a basket full of chicken and a big cold jug of sweet tea
I make a little room and she climbs on up
Open up a throttle and stir a little dust
Just look at her face she ain't a foolin me
She thinks my tractor's sexy
It really turns her on
She's always staring at me
While I'm chuggin along
She likes the way it's pullin' while we're tillin' up the land
She's even kind of crazy 'bout my farmer's tan
She's the only one who really understands what gets me
She thinks my tractor's sexy
We ride back and forth until we run out of light
Take it to the barn put it up for the night
Climb up in the loft sit and talk with the radio on
She said she's got a dream and I asked what it is
She wants a little farm and a yard full of kids
One more teeny weeny ride before take her home
She thinks my tractor's sexy
It really turns her on
She's always staring at me
While I'm chuggin along
She likes the way it's pullin' while we're tillin' up the land
She's even kind of crazy 'bout my farmer's tan
She's the only one who really understands what gets me
She thinks my tractor's sexy
Well she ain't into cars or pick up trucks
But if it runs like a Deere man her eyes light up
She thinks my tractor's....
She thinks my tractor's sexy
It really turns her on
She's always staring at me
While I'm chuggin along
She likes the way it's pullin' while we're tillin' up the land
She's even kind of crazy 'bout my farmer's tan
She's the only one who really understands what gets me
She thinks my tractor's sexy
She thinks my tractor's sexy
She thinks my tractor's sexy

Nine-banded Armadillo (a.k.a. Long-nosed Armadillo; Dasypus novemcinctus) - Playlinda Beach Road, Canaveral National Seashore, Wilson, Florida
'E's a beauty, eh?
And they make for boring images too!
I found this guy at twilight manically feeding along the roadside as I was leaving the National Seashore for the day. You'd think it would be easy to take a picture of these guys, but it's surprisingly difficult because they never hold still when they're feeding, the light's not usually good, and they have their face against the ground 90% of the time. So I just kept snapping away as it worked its way along the road, and I managed to capture a couple pics that weren't motion blurred.
Count 'em, "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9".
Yep, 9 bands in the flexible section between the larger front and rear plates, and a simple way to tell these guys from their equally ugly relatives. Good thing they're usually nocturnal!
FYI - Did you know all armadillos are quads?
No, or should I say "yes", they do have 4 legs, but what I mean is that they have litters of 4 that all come from a single egg. Yup, a single egg that splits twice to produce 4 identical armadillos, and as with identical twins, they're all the same sex. So there's no foolin' around within the family, and the siblings are forced to find mates elsewhere.
Stop your messin' around
Better think of your future
Time you straightened right out
Creatin' problems in town
Brody, a message to you
Brody, a message to you
Stop your foolin' around
Time you straightened right out
Better think of your future
Or else you'll wind up in jail
Brody, a message to you
In order to keep the Islands cool and comfortable for the millions of tourists these "windfarms" were created. People try to tell me they are for producing electricity, but they ain't foolin' me! Potato farms grow potatoes... ;) www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ySAakGHIps. fineartamerica.com/profiles/1-jason-jacobs.html
orange juice refreshments at the V&A whilst waiting to look round the Bowie exhibition....foolin' around in London....
At Te & Kaffi in Reykjavik. This espresso rivaled Italy's. No foolin'. So I'm uploading these pix from my iPhone and have very limited Internet. I promise I'll catch up on all your streams when I get back to my laptop. :-)
You need coolin', baby, I'm not foolin',
I'm gonna send you back to schoolin',
Way down inside honey, you need it,
I'm gonna give you my love,
Wanna Whole Lotta Love?
You've been learnin', baby, I been learnin',
All them good times, baby, baby, I've been yearnin',
Way, way down inside honey, you need it,
I'm gonna give you my love
You've been coolin', baby, I've been droolin',
All the good times I've been misusin',
Way, way down inside, I'm gonna give you my love,
I'm gonna give you every inch of my love,
Gonna give you my love.
Yeah! All right! Let's go!
Way down inside, woman, You need love.
Shake for me, girl, I wanna be your backdoor man.
Hey, oh, hey, oh, Oh, oh, oh, Keep a-coolin', baby,
Keep a-coolin', baby.
