There's no geotag on this photo, but I want to say this was at the Laughter Rd. interchange, back in the first half of August 2018. Retail Retell caught one of these shields all but completely uncovered at the Getwell Rd. interchange. I had passed by that sign several times myself, but almost always going the other direction, and never paid it much attention either way!

It's baaaack! (NO APRIL FOOLIN'). We know many of you have been eagerly awaiting for a return of the speeder bike contest. Well, here it is, so get to building!
Please note that we are going "Back to Basics" which means:
- Minifig scale only, with a rider shown on the speeder bike,
- Built out of physical bricks, and
- Judging will be largely based on the bike itself (with presentation style used for breaking the ties between close competitors).
- Only one entry per category, per person. Post only one photo into the appropriate category entry discussion here on flickr (you can replace/edit your entries up until the deadline).

The wood stork is a large American wading bird in the stork family. It appears all white on the ground, with blackish-gray legs and pink feet. In flight, the trailing edge of the wings is black. The head is dark brown with a bald, black face, and the thick down-curved bill is dusky yellow. Juvenile birds are a duller version of the adult, generally browner on the neck, and with a paler bill. The bare head and the long bill, which can measure up to ten inches in length, render the wood stork distinctive from other large waders in its range.

I'm continuing to raid the archives as I'm in a real photo slump due to weather,work and other issues. This is the New River Gorge near Narrows,Va last winter. Could probably be cropped better, but eh... it looks pretty good and I'm tired of foolin' with it! :-D

says he has two daughters with three doctorates between them; one who teaches at columbia; the other at texas southern.
he was one of the original twelve black panther founding members, he says. i tell him my mother worked with eldridge cleaver at ramparts magazine back in the day. but he says he never liked cleaver: "he wasn't good to his woman."

April Fool's Day and I crossed paths with BR401 again on my way home. Yeah, the same locomotive, still running long hood foreward, only westbound out of Bradley this time, and cloudy. All that said, I know better than to take anything for granted these days in north central Wisconsin with all the retrenchment that has happened in the last 20 years. Running parallel to Highway 8, the marshes and dense forest here describe this area well. April 1, 2024.
Today's bonus OARCB (old ass rivet counter boomer) mundane high sun, silver box, gravel pile, leaning, wirey, mindless wedgie!
So let's return now to those thrilling days of yesteryear and continue my never ending fetish to capture a train in a perfect NGPN (National Geographic Pristine Nature) setting.
Today Mr Peabody has set the Wayback Machine to April 1, 1978 at Peoria, Illinois. (No foolin.) Life was good.
Last minute foolin' around with bokeh effects before the Christmas tree gets taken down.
Funny how much the difference between lenses and the f stop used affects the resulting shape. Tried out a 100mm macro a 50mm prime and this one was with the 24-105 very different results each time.

Nothing like grinding through a tough week to come out the other side to just enjoy the simple pleasures of life. For me that means uncorking a bottle of Italian wine while taking in the warmth of a setting sun. I like April, so it's yet another reason to celebrate - no foolin'. Wishing everyone a weekend full of pleasure and libation!
