El Gran Buda de Fo Guang, que representa al Buda Shakyamuni y que llevo más de un año fundir, empleando en total 1800 toneladas de metal y que se terminó en 2011. La estatua del Gran Buda tiene cuarenta metros de alto, y su asiento diez metros de alto. En total, la altura del Buda es de 108 metros (un número favorable en el budismo).

The Great Buddha of Fo Guang, representing the Shakyamuni Buddha and that has been casting for more than a year, using a total of 1800 tons of metal and ended in 2011. The Big Buddha statue is 40 meters high, and its seat ten meters high. In total, the Buddha's height is 108 meters (a favourable number in Buddhism).

The snowfall was Eastern Kentucky's most significant in 3 years, dropping as much as 7 1/2 inches in some locations, and painting the entire Big Sandy in a shade of wintry white. The regionally famous 'leaning' cantilever at FO Cabin was once just a few ticks around the bend from this location

explanation of this piece:
i do not know if this ever happens to you all in flickr-land, but there are times when i have a no idea what art piece i want to create. a sort of "writer's block" of the paint brushes!!!
when this happens to me i just make "anything".....telling myself it does not have to be "great art" (LOL)..just do something to get my creative juices flowing (so to speak).
well.i was experiencing one of those "dreaded" blocks and this is what i made to deal with it.
when this happens i am sometimes pleased with what i have created..and sometimes i just laugh at myself and put it away.
i thought i would share with you all the art piece that resulted from my most recent "bump in the road"!!!
