In my mind I run into limits long before I have actually pushed against them with my intention. Or…
While maybe maybe, I can’t defy physics rules, I can expand far beyond what I once thought I could—realms unknown, experiencing things I have not thought of before. I can play with some abandon within a very large playground. Or, I probably can disobey physics since physics itself contradicts itself. What we thought was certain, like the location of a particle of light, is not at all certain (and is sometimes not a particle). This is not limiting. It is expanding.
Our brains are in at least two parts and the emotional and rational have trouble communicating. Spiritual connection (the third way) links me together with an understanding of your unspeakable self. Or, I can know you in a way that is not predictable or obvious--kind of like the unknowing of where that little photon is. This connection is associated with very good feelings.
Say yes to one instant and I have said yes to an infinite number of instants (Note: say yes to life). This does not make sense to my mind, but my spiritual self knows it and my creative self acts on it. The birthing of art, when I think of it before I "do" it, feels highly unlikely, but then I take a picture, and look at what is there (or not) and then I sit to write. I often have no idea of what will come when I write. The fact that something does come is miraculous to me and the good feeling of it both rises from deep within me and sinks deep within me at the same time, feeding me at the same time that I am giving of myself....that photon is wily.

Newberry National Volcanic Monument was designated on November 5, 1990 to protect the area around the Newberry Volcano in the United States. It was created within the boundaries of the Deschutes National Forest and is managed by the U.S. Forest Service. It includes 50,000 acres (20,000 ha) of lakes, lava flows, and spectacular geologic features in central Oregon. These photos are taken from the summit Paulina Peak 7,985 ft, (2,434 m). Just below us are East Lake and Paulina Lake and The Big Obsidian Flow, created 1,300 years ago, covers 700 acres. It is hard to fathom as you drive through the summit area that you are within a 17 square mile caldera at the summit of a 500 square mile volcano, a volcano that remains very active to this day. Newberry is both seismically and geothermally active. Geologists believe the caldera sits over a shallow magma body only 2 to 5 kilometers deep. Visitors see numerous cinder cones (over 400 throughout the area), miles of basalt flows, as well as rhyolite flows of obsidian.

'Composed of hundreds of stainless steel pin-drive anchors, three gracefully curving lines represent movement across the open swath of sidewalk. Concentric circles of varying sizes intersect, symbolizing rain dropping into the river and carried along as life source to all that the river touches. Intermingling with these are three images of flora and fauna that thrive in and along the Guadalupe River. '
