For Macro Monday's "New" theme.
The front lawn here has been overrun by these tiny little native violets for near 10 years now. About twice a year I mow them, sadly, which I did recently. Quite fitting that at the start of a new year, a few of the violets having start to grow back - new life. This little fellow was about 5mm across. The meek shall inherit the lawn?
Happy new week out there, hope the post Christmas/New Year hangovers have all dissipated.
In the embrace of fiery petals,
a secret world unfolds.
Emerald whispers curl around amber dreams,
as if spring and flame have struck an accord.
A bloom both fierce and tender,
where the pulse of nature beats in a kaleidoscope of color.
A vivid pink dahlia in full bloom, showcasing nature’s flair for drama and detail.. These flowers are known for their intricate, layered petals and bold colors, making them a favorite in gardens and floral arrangements.
Every bloom we grow, every color we see unfold... There's a quiet kind of joy in watching them come to life
Welcoming 1st bloom on Jeanie Moragne plumeria. It's late in the season but she is a special beauty!

A burst of colors, soft and bright,
Each petal dancing in the light.
Together they bloom, a gentle grace,
A smile they bring, a warm embrace.
There is a quiet beauty in the transition between life and the ethereal. In this macro study, I wanted to explore the intersection of the tangible and the fleeting.
By pairing the sharp, textured centre of this daisy with the soft, unpredictable wisps of smoke, the scene takes on a dreamlike quality. The black void of the background allows the soft pinks and bold oranges to truly 'pop,' while the smoke adds a layer of atmosphere that feels almost like the flower’s own breath caught in a moment of stillness.
Captured with a focus on detail, light, and the delicate dance of smoke trails
Captured the delicate beauty of this pink flower, using a wide aperture to create a dreamy, creamy bokeh. The soft background highlights the intricate details of the petals, bringing out their natural elegance. Sometimes, it’s the simplest moments that remind me of the quiet beauty in nature.
What do you think? There’s something so peaceful about focusing on the small things. 🌸✨
no models, no crowds of people about - just an abundance of flowers. Unusual for the hottest part of the summer, but you take what you're given, sometimes, and don't ask too many questions...
