"Low-Contrast."
Previously titled "Low-Contrast," this image was submitted as part of a class on black & white photography. The theme in this case was "low-contrast." It is an example of a low-contrast black & white image, meaning there are no deep blacks or bright whites. Just a scale of gray throughout.
"Beginnings"
This image is being submitted as part of the #Flickr21 Photo Challenge, celebrating Flickr's 21st anniversary on February 10, 2025. The theme for the 7th day of the 21 day photo challenge is "Beginnings." Not only was this the beginning of the band Sallet, but it was the beginning of the revival of my Flickr account. This was the very first image I submitted to Flickr with any sort of context, and the very first edited image I ever uploaded to Flickr. Not only that, but I am pretty sure this was the first image I ever submitted that got edited with Adobe Lightroom, which I had just bought for the first time about a month prior (Lightroom 3, the first time any version of Lightroom was marked down to below $100 ever).
(I previously had some images up from a music festival, but they were flat, un-edited images straight out of camera with no context as to where and when and why they were taken. And they were uploaded back in the day when Flickr had a limit on the number of images one could upload daily. I never did fully complete that project, and subsequently deleted those images some time later.)
As for the band, while this was their beginning, it was also pretty much their end. They did not last much longer before folding, and as far as I am aware, I don't think they ever played anywhere live outside of practice. Most of the members went on to play in different bands, but I have lost contact with them over the years.
