This space invader on this particular location has everything to do with the French culture. Located on the wall of the house of Serge Gainsbourg. It's the third version. The 2009 original has been deleted a few days after installation, the second one has been re-activated by Invader himself in 2011 and was removed in the same year. This one is the work of the R-Team Paris and made in 2016. The decor is the always chaning graffiti and street art wall in the 7ème arrondissement of Paris, the house of Gainsbourg is in Rue de Verneuil which is not a secret at all.

New York City was one of the first cities 'invaded' by Invader. The first 'wave' was before the 9/11 attacks in 2001 and as we speak (2015) the city of New York has been invaded 147 times spread out over 6 waves (the last wave was in May 2015 with only one additonal space invader). This one was installed in 2009.
Stewart is using the "FlashInvaders" application to gain 20 points. Much to the surprise of a passing local.

Second Best "52 Weeks Project"
Since I have been joining the 52 Weeks Project on Flickr it has happened several times that I had to chose between two or more self portraits that week. A difficult choice. The solution is to create a set of all good alternatives. Life is full of choices and sometimes a week has too much opportunities. This is one of those alternatives, the second best. And sometimes just as good.

Capitale(s) 09/01/2023 12h55
One of the main reasons for me to certainly not miss this exposition is the work of Invader. It goes without saying that the most famous street artist of Paris, France or even the world Invader also contributed to the Capitale(s) exhibition at Hôtel de Ville in Paris.
For this exhibition, Invader worked it out in such a way that he installed his 1475th space invader in Paris here (along with his 1474th) and that the total points of all space invaders in Paris would be 40,000.
This is the wall I would love to have at home as well. All 1475 space invaders (PA_01 till PA_1475) installed between 1998 and 2022 together with an index at the left side with dates invasion and points.
Invader
Invader is surely the most viral of urban artists. From his beginnings in 1996, he invented an original label: he depicted in mosaics affixed across the city the pixelated images of digital icons. By making reference in his invasion to fields a priori remote from urban art, from video games to the history of ancient art or even cartography, he takes it into a more conceptual and represents the renewal of movement.
Innovative, its approach accompanies the digital revolution which is tipping the 21st century into a new era. With more than 4,000 mosaics around the world, including nearly 1,500 in Paris, it became participatory when, in 2014, the artist launched his FlashInvaders application. It allows players to identify his works around the world and earn points by photographing them.
CAPITALE(S) | 60 YEARS OF URBAN ART IN PARIS
For the first time, the Hôtel de Ville is devoting an unprecedented exhibition to urban art to highlight this artistic movement which, day after day, takes over the streets of Paris a little more for our greatest happiness. It was time to celebrate these drawings, collages and graffiti that come to life on our walls and enchant the daily lives of Parisians, happy to reclaim their public space and rediscover it with a fresh look. A hidden space invader in one of the beautiful gardens of Paris. If you know where you can find dinosaur skeletons, you may know where to search. This one was space invader number 3778 in the world, and the 999th flashed by me in Paris (from the 1419 excisting space invaders in the French capital).
I had to search for this one to find the building under which the space invader concerned was located. It's not an official "52-Weeks" selfie, but it could very well be.

A camo space invader made of rather big tiles in the 6ème arrondissement of Paris. The original has never popped up on Flickr or other media so I guess this one was quickly removed in its invasion year 2005.

Dragon ball space invader in the 5ème arrondissement of Paris. Not far from the Notre-Dame de Paris! It was a pleasure to meet Archi & Philou (André) here in front of PA_1241, like me a fanatic space invader hunter and photograher. Nice to meet you André.

Invader's first invasion in the year 2023 took place outside Paris; Villeneuve-Saint-George. I took RER D about 20 kilometers from Gare du Nord to the Southeast of ÃŽle-de-France to encounter this beautiful big invader along the N6 on an elevator shaft to reach the Passerelle Villeneuve Triage.

THE INVASION OF CLERMONT-FERRAND
The first (two?) invasion wave(s) of the center of Clermont-Ferrand occured in the year 2000 and consisted 8 space invaders, 4 of them are still there (including 1 re-activation) and flashable.
In January 2016 Clermont-Ferrand was invaded again, the 3rd invasion wave took place:
"At the occasion of the screening of the very last version of the movie Art4Sspace at the Interntional Short Film Festival of Clermont-Ferrand, I have added 31 new creations to the city of the center of France. Among various themes, they refer to movies and cinema but also to what Clermont Ferrand is famous for : its gothic cathedrale, its volcanos, its Michelin factories and its Serge Gainsbourg street" (Invader)
