I love the description that adult male Baltimore Orioles are "flame-orange and black" as when you see them, the color is so distinctive and hard to believe!

Micro (macro) photographs of lit candles, showcasing the amazing art that's produced when a candle's wick burns and the candle's wax melts into incredible shapes.

It took me awhile to be able to expose properly for both the burning wick and the flame itself, and it's challenging to get a sharp focus as I shoot these handheld.

While shooting a micro of a lit candle wick the flame made this beautiful swirl.

Human Torch aka Johnny Storm of the Fantastic Four.....from Bionicle and Hero parts.

With all the Christmas lights in the neighborhood I went to shoot random shots of nothing but color variations of bokeh.

Time to celebrate the 3.000.000 views. In the past usually it will be a Star Wars MOC , this year Marvel is taking the stage with the human torch .

(The fantastic 4 are my son’s favorite characters from Marvel).

Along with this I want to say thanks to all the people that posted my MOC’s sigils from Game of Thrones Lego in their blogs. Because of that, my Flickr account was in flames. I got in one single day 133.472 views. I don’t know, but for me that was insane.

Thanks to all followers and visitors. Have a Great summer 2015!

Loosely based on Sideshow's Fantastic Four Diorama, one of my favourite statues... I still hope to own it one day, though I'm going to begin my Sideshow statues with the acquisition of Scarlet Witch Comiquette (see Dr Teng's wonderful review of it here). Eagerly awaiting September.

Anyway, featured here are 6-7" figures of the Fantastic Four. Mr Fantastic and Human Torch (custom haircut and paint) were released by Hasbro. Jessica Alba movie Sue Storm by Toybiz and finally, my latest purchase, Marvel Select Thing.

Must say, it was a disappointment. Despite its sculpt, size and weight, the figure is really a brick. The "base" that came with it was very forgettable as well... Not to mention his right leg broke off while I was posing it for this photoshoot. Sigh... I hope Abomination and Juggy don't turn out like him.

BTW, borrowed an image of the LSB Galactus bust by Sideshow for the back drop.

I'm still looking for the best situations to use HDR. This picture captures both the faint blue flames, and also the writing inside the bright red dials.

12 RAW images were mereged in Photoshop and then tone mapped using Photomatix.

Sheng Yuan have smashed it with this beauty, a fully transparent orange minifig for the Human Torch. The quality is remarkable and the effect is just perfect. Will upload some close-ups of the parts soon.

A nice idea to use the longer limbs from the Woody fig for Mr Fantastic.

With the basic LEGO-style bigfig for The Thing, I'm just waiting until a trans-clear fig hits the streets to complete this bunch.

Got some other foreign figs which are pretty cool so will post those when I have a better photo setup.

Enjoy some scenes from Thursday nights balloon challenge. The object of this nights race was a big X on the balloon field, a swimming pool planted at 2 of the cross legs . Balloons lifted off upwind of the target and had to calculate exactly how much heat neaded to navigate and come in over the X. They would tosss a yellow banner from the balloon basket hitting either of the pools or the center of the X, prizes won for a direct hit.

Shot as it flew overhead toward the target This one came fairly close so I could nearly fll the frame loooking up through the envelope. This balloon reminds me of fruity skittles

A gijinka (humanized version) of the Pokemon character.

Cosplay kids is an ongoing illustration series dedicated to video game and comic book pop culture. These little kiddos love dressing up as their favorite heroes and dream of the day they are old enough to attend their favorite cons to show off their skills. These skills are of coarse only in their imagination.
