I have posted this Fireball capture before in 2016 but that was a screen shot! It was very cool to see! The Barn is almost fallen down now in 2018 here its just leaning a little 2016
At last light, FCCA C39-8 #1032 shoots a fireball into the oxygen-starved air of the high Andes as it navigates the switchback at Chicla. Fire is a regular sighting on this end of the railroad, where the veteran diesel-electric engines battle steep grades and unbreathable air, and sounds reminiscent of gunshots ring through the valley in kind. Despite their radiance, capturing these infernal outbursts proved challenging, often missing frames by fractions of a second. This was probably my best effort, and after a couple days of depressing luck, it was well warranted
The sun was red as it came up over the horizon, but after several attempts I couldn't get a photo of the colour of the sun as it was. I then tried to edit the right colour onto the image, but that didn't work either. So I present to you the sun as a fireball as it was taken this morning.

Sunrise this morning (Monday) was a ball of fire to start yet another perfect autumn day! Autumn is certainly making up for our poor summer :-)

Its a boring day as 930 has no crew to go south and so i am riding around with a good friend when we hear SNC 8524 two cars to a stop we storm to the Station and hear SNC 8524 to the dispatch we will be done in 10 minutes and then while later we hear Dispatch to snc 8524 you are clear to head north to the branch look for your light at CPC-33
Philip and I had fun making some fireballs up Mynedd Bach, a local hill. Thanks to Jamie for spinning the sparks, we had a lot of fun :o)
Fireball (possible late Taurid maybe, as it was coming from Taurus constellation) with faint atmospheric gravity waves on red airglow on the background. The bright spot on the left of the fireball is Jupiter. Saturn is visible as well.
