The Revera and Reel Youth Age is More Film Project is an intergenerational partnership between Revera, a Canadian leader in seniors' accommodation, care and services, and Reel Youth, a charitable project that empowers youth to create engaging films about important social issues. The partnership was launched in 2013.

With 80 films to date, the program celebrates older Canadians through story-telling and film, with the added benefit of fostering new intergenerational relationships. The project aims to shed light on ageism, challenge the assumptions of aging and recognize the valuable contributions of older adults to society.

On set for first weekend of filming for "The Shadows of Hope". I worked as the production manager for this project. When I wasn't bossing people around, or wrangling cast & students, I took some BTS shots. Loved every moment of this project - got to work with some really amazing & talented people!

The Shadows of Hope is an innovative project. It's the first of its kind, to combine the fields of science/medicine in a filming & teaching environment. It's a combo short film + active PhD research project. Final products will be: a short drama film, a BTS documentary & a PhD thesis.

We had students shadow principal crew members & learn in the field with us. We're hoping that some of the kids will be inspired to enter fields of the arts, science/medicine or media (including all levels of filmmaking).
