Built in 1754 and completely restored in 1910, the Château de La Motte-Tilly has now been bequeathed to the French state due to a lack of heirs. The US film director Miloš Forman ('One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest', 'Amadeus') used the château and park as locations for his film 'Valmont' (1989), based on the epistolary novel 'Dangerous Liaisons' by Choderlos de Laclos.

When attending the opening of the new art exhibition Pulchri I spotted famous dutch write and artist Marion Bloem. I waited for the right opportunity to ask her for shooting a portrait of her. Luckily she was willing to pose in front of my camera.

The Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov first came to the attention of the international film world in 2012 with GAMER, which screened to great acclaim at the Rotterdam IFF. Inspired by a computer and video-gaming club for kids that Sentsov had founded, GAMER was shown in the Bright Future section of the festival for talented newcomers.
Today the ‘bright future’ that Oleg Sentsov is looking at is 20 years in a Russian prison, accused of being a terrorist together with the ecologist, Oleksandr Kolchenko sentenced to 10 years.
