This Confederate reenactor was quite a skilled fife player. He was playing along with a drummer (a Union reenactor, interestingly) during the recent Civil War Days at Detroit's Historic Fort Wayne.

Flickr friends, my Internet has been down since yesterday afternoon and just came back, so I'm late posting and a bit behind on comments. Will be catching up soon.

Looking out from St. Monan's harbour across the Firth of Forth towards Berwick Law and the Bass Rock, home of the worlds largest gannet colony.
A bit too sunny for me, I would have preferred moodier and stormier!
Sea Beams by Donald Urquhart, located in Dysart, Fife. The colours of the beams represent the hues of the Firth of Forth under different light conditions.
This less than stellar image was taken on a trip with the fam to Seattle Center, a place that we are all too old for, but that's where the ladies wanted to go.
The soil in Fife Washington is some of the most fertile in the world due to previous volcanic eruptions and was once vast farmland. Today most of it is paved with extremely large warehouses full of goodies made in China due to it's proximity to the Port of Tacoma. It really is a crying shame to see. This was taken from Sterino Farms which thankfully is on the other side of the Puyallup River in Puyallup and maintains it's crops and picturesque view. I will be going back for better light, but since we are setting records for rain in a place famous for rain, this is what I have to offer today. :-)
It was my goal to forego flickr for a few weeks until I get something better but I just couldn't do it, so I'll be checking up on ya'll today. I apologize for the tardiness, but this is a lot more fun when you have skin in the game. :-)
