The sun burned down on the pavement of the small festival stage as Naïa closed her eyes, feeling the pulse of the music. Her arms moved in sync with the congas, the maracas in her hands creating a hypnotic sound that captivated the crowd.
Behind her, her bandmate drummed with tireless energy, while Naïa surrendered completely to the moment. The people in front of the stage danced barefoot, laughed, and let the music carry them away. This was her moment—an instant of perfect harmony.
As the last note faded, Naïa opened her eyes. Silence. Then, an explosion of cheers. She smiled. The rhythm of the street had once again touched people's hearts.

Jabbarer Boli Khela (জব্বারের বলী খেলা) is a century-old traditional wrestling competition held every year in Chattogram (Chittagong), Bangladesh. It was started in 1909 by a local businessman and social worker named Abdul Jabbar Sowdagar.
At that time, the British colonial rule was dominant, and Abdul Jabbar wanted to encourage physical fitness and unity among the youth of Chattogram to resist colonial oppression. Inspired by the spirit of self-reliance and empowerment, he introduced this wrestling competition.
The first Boli Khela was organized at Laldighi Maidan (the famous red pond field) during the Bengali New Year (Pohela Boishakh) festivities. Over time, it became a major cultural event, blending sports, tradition, and a vibrant Boishakhi Mela (fair) — turning the whole area into a grand celebration of Chattogram’s spirit.
The word "Boli" (বলী) means "wrestler" and "Khela" (খেলা) means "game" or "sport." Thus, Boli Khela literally translates to "Wrestlers' Game."
Today, Jabbarer Boli Khela is not just about physical strength — it's a living symbol of Chattogram’s pride, bravery, and enduring cultural heritage. Wrestlers (Bolira) from all over the region come to compete, and thousands of spectators gather to cheer, celebrate, and relive the history.

Rue Saint-Urbain (Saint Urbain Street) is a long, historic street running south-to-north through Montreal, known for its rich immigration history and its prominent place in literature.
Origin of the Name: The street is named after Urbain Tessier, a farmer and carpenter who settled in the area and built the original southernmost stretch in the 17th century. The name also references Saint Urbain. The street was officially designated before 1817.
Cultural and Demographic Significance: Saint Urbain is particularly famous for being a hub and the heart of Montreal's Historic Jewish Quarter in the early 20th century. Although much of the community moved to Outremont by the 1970s, the history and legacy remain central. Later, the street also became home to Greek, Portuguese, and Caribbean immigrants.
Popular Culture: The street was famously immortalized by Montreal author Mordecai Richler, who grew up in the area and used Rue Saint-Urbain as both a title and a central setting in many of his novels, chronicling the life of the neighbourhood's Jewish community.
Recent Urban Development: Montreal has recently implemented projects to transform a section of Rue Saint-Urbain (between Avenue Bernard and Rue Milton) into a sustainable mobility corridor, adding a protected bike path and a reserved bus lane during peak hours to improve active and public transportation connectivity between the Plateau and Downtown.

Boulevard René-Lévesque Ouest (René-Lévesque Boulevard West) is one of Montreal's most important thoroughfares, serving as the central axis of its main business district.

Financial and Office Core: The West section of the boulevard is Montreal's business and financial district. It is lined with numerous skyscrapers and prominent office buildings, including the CIBC Tower, 1250 René-Lévesque, and the Hydro-Québec Building.
Landmarks: The boulevard features several urban and architectural landmarks, such as Place Ville-Marie, St. Patrick's Basilica, Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral, and the Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA). It also separates Place du Canada from Dorchester Square.
Transportation: As a central artery, it is extremely well-connected. The west section offers excellent access to the transit network, including metro stations (Green and Orange Lines), the Gare Centrale (Central Train Station), and, more recently, direct access to the new REM light rail system.

This moment from the Marma Sangrai Water Festival in Bandarban, Bangladesh, is more than just a celebration—it's a story of vibrant emotions and cultural unity captured in motion. 💦

Sometimes, as a photographer, there's an urge to break the rules and experiment—despite knowing that doing so might risk missing the perfect moment or sharp frame. But the thrill of trying something new often feels more rewarding than sticking to perfection.
This image is the result of one such creative risk.
During this fast-paced action, I deliberately slowed down the shutter speed to see what kind of story the water could tell.
The splash from behind and the radiant joy in front—both got captured in a different way.
It may not be classically "sharp," but I believe it holds something deeper: a tale, a rhythm, and a fleeting emotion.
What do you think—did the experiment succeed?

🇬🇧 At the annual "Dweildag" (Brass Band Festival) in Bemmel, this installation of printed cleaning cloths took on an almost spiritual quality. Suspended from dozens of lines and lifted by a Wido mobile crane, the fluttering fabric resembled Tibetan prayer flags — albeit with a humorous twist.

Wading into a confluence of more than one kind, beyond the Ganga, the Yamuna and and the mystical Saraswati, the boats at Prayag drifted into a merging of resolve, intent, belief, faith, and the people who carried them. The Mahakumbh offered unmatched opportunities to delve into stories and paint vivid pictures.
A spontaneous street capture during the Fête de la Musique in Paris, at Point Éphémère. Taken without warning or posing, this candid moment shows a blond-haired man in a grey tank top walking past a wooden fence, while in the background a young woman in a yellow "Brasil" t-shirt sits on the ground checking her phone. A genuine urban scene filled with music, culture, and summer vibes.

against the backdrop of a late afternoon sky, the sun plays hide and seek behind an iconic figure reimagined as a sentinel of childhood joys. the 'tortugas' sign, a beacon of festivity, crowns the scene in bold, carnival colors, echoing with the laughter of the fiera del ram. there's a sense of movement in the stillness, a dance of light and shadow, as if the figure is about to leap into the throng of carousel music and spinning lights. it's a moment suspended, a clash of fantasy and reality, where stories from our youth stand tall against the infinite canvas of the sky.
On the cobbled streets of Edinburgh during festival season, the rickshaw becomes more than transport — it’s theatre on three wheels.
Our cyclist, decked out in full technicolour and ready to headline his own spin-off show, has clearly grasped the Fringe spirit: be bold, be visible, and above all, be entertaining. His furry companion (secured and shaded) adds a note of surreal whimsy — and the crowd can’t help but pause, glance, and grin. Even the toddler in the pushchair seems unsure whether she’s an audience member or an unwitting extra.
A flash of lycra, a flash of legs, and off he pedals — next fare, next laugh.

The difficulty of a journey is not defined by the distance traveled, but by the path one has to take. At the Maha Kumbh, a young girl walked a tightrope. Few noticed her, and many walked past. She, too, was oblivious to the crowd as she moved steadily from one end of the rope to the other. Her skill, passed down through generations, carries with it the story of hardship – a life where balance is not just an act, but a way of survival.
