I admire this every time I drive past it, but it's on a narrow, winding, hilly road which is often busy. When I came by yesterday there were no other cars in sight, so I snapped one shot before a car came up behind me and I moved on.
is on one of the main thoroughfares in Racine. I admire it every time I drive past. I suppose it's the turret and the stone that give it a "fairytale castle" appearance.
Added 9/30/06; I recently did a bit of research and determined that this is actually a 'tower', not a 'turret' as it goes all the way to the ground, but this is still a really neat house
This is Wind Point Lighthouse; it was dark enough yet that the light was still lit. I had to drag my vintage (circa 1978) SLR film camera out of the closet because my point and shoot digital couldn't handle the low light conditions 19 minutes before sunrise. The sky was nowhere near this blue, it was very gray, but I'm sure the folks at Walgreens did the best they could. This was 1/15th of a second; I also tried 1/30th and 1/8th, but liked this the best. Maybe next time I'll have daylight to shoot in! (For the One World, One Time group.)

my sister in law (and friend)- knit me this scarf. It is 9 feet long. I love it. Now I see the forecast is for sunny and warm. Darn it all.
Two little girls and I went out in the rain one afternoon. We got soaking wet, caught some hail in our hands and had a great time. After it stopped raining the older one insisted they needed boots to jump in the puddles. So they struggled to get their wet feet into their snow boots, but soon the boots were wet inside, and their feet were hot. This kid sat down IN the puddle to remove hers. I'm at a loss to explain what she was looking at or why she was standing with her arms back like that.

This is a cat I used to have. He was quite a character, even when he was asleep. It wouldn't surprise me if he's dreaming about surrendering to the authorities after committing some offense against mankind, or dog-kind since he's sleeping in the center of the dog's bed!

This is a pinwheel pattern scrap quilt my mother made and gave us for a wedding present 26 years ago. I love it because it has pieces of material my mom and I made clothing from while I was growing up.

She will be four next month, so working a yo-yo is a bit much to expect. It's all right though, this little valentine toy doesn't work worth a darn. She had fun just dropping it and then winding the string back up so I could take her picture. She was very conscientious about it and told me several times not to take her picture until the string was all wound back inside. I don't listen very well, do I?

Early morning in my neighborhood. After an overnight snowfall my next door neighbor put on his blaze orange hunting jacket to clear off his driveway with his snow thrower. Another neighbor is at the end of his driveway, bent over his snow shovel, and I never noticed him until I looked at this large! (Shot out of my front window.)

This is currently one of my favorite things, got it for a bargain at a local camera shop and I'm really pleased with it's performance so far.
Never had a Panasonic camera before but the closest I could find that performed as well in lowlight was 100 pounds more so I'm happy as that was part of its main reasoning for purchase.
