Gorgeous place in earth!

Mount Field National Park, Tasmania

October was the rainiest month in history in the Seattle area, which created a huge volume of turbulent water to roar down the falls.

Snoqualmie Falls is 270 feet tall and anywhere from 50 -150 feet wide. On this day it sure was at it's maximum width. The building at the top is the Salish Lodge, formerly the Snoqualmie Falls Lodge, famous for it's breakfasts.

Great Falls National Park, Virginia

There are 2 major waterfalls on the Yellowstone River. This is the Upper falls . The water continues to flow a quarter mile downstream over the Lower Yellowstone Falls. It then enters the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. The total height of the Upper Falls is 308 feet !!

Nelson Falls, South-west Tasmania. There was so much spray coming of the falls that it was very hard to keep the lens dry to get a shot.

Athabasca Falls is a waterfall in Jasper National Park on the upper Athabasca River, approximately 30 kilometres south of the townsite of Jasper, Alberta, Canada, and just west of the Icefields Parkway.

Alaska's Virgin Creek falls has limited ways to capture it. It was a treacherous slippery drop to reach this level of the falls for this perspective. It would have been destructive to get any closer so glad to get this.

"Virgin Creek Falls: The nicest little waterfall hike in Alaska.

Hikes in Alaska don’t come any sweeter than Virgin Creek Falls. The falls are small but beautiful, and they generate a respectable roar as they come shooting into a misty, almost tropical-feeling grotto." hikingalaska.net

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Niagara Falls in the fall.

Most people shoot these falls in front of the rocks, I went to extra effort to place myself here to use them in the foreground.

Erawan Falls is 3.5-4 hours from downtown Bangkok, and I arrived at 7:30 AM to avoid the crowds which came by 9 AM. Swimming is allowed in all of the falls, so getting people free shots has a limited window. Humidity was at 95% which presented lots of camera issues along with my sweating. But in the end, I am happy with the shots.

I hesitated to take LE at Niagara Falls. The mist was too strong at anytime due to strong falls’ dropping force… It is so attractive to me, I have to try again and again, even with water sprays covering me and camera all the time… First time after lockdown, surprisingly lots of people here, the light was bright during daytime, had to use LEE 10-stop filter… The filter was covered with water sprays even a few seconds exposed outside. Here is Niagara Falls…

Wizard Falls streams down the Metolius River as autumn colors burnish its banks in gold, amber and red. Not a plunge falls but more of a deep gorge sliced between volcanic rocks that form its bed, Wizard Falls resembles more of a rapids.

Trentham Falls is one of the longest single drop waterfalls in Victoria, Australia plunging some 32 metres over basalt columns. Trentham Falls was formed some five million years ago from molten lava rapidly cooling as it flowed along the old Coliban River valley. At the base of the Falls, quartz gravel and the former river bed can be seen.

Postcardy sort of shot. :-)

Summer Grasses in the breeze.

Mooney Falls is the fourth main waterfall in the Havasu Canyon.

The falls are about 210 feet (64 m) tall and fall into a rocky pool.

The Havasu Creek is well known for its blue-green color and distinctive travertine formations. This is due to large amounts of calcium carbonate in the water that formed the limestone that lines the creek and reflects its color so strongly (source: Wikipedia).

Located in Cherokee North Carolina, probably one of the prettier falls, that is not seen by many people....

Beautiful 60' cascading waterfall located near the town of Rosman, NC in the Pisgah National Forest.

Hickeys Falls between Gilgandra and Coonabarabran in New South Wales. I'm told many yowies has been sighted here :-) (The yowie is Australia's version of bigfoot)

This was my only chance to visit this waterfall and the sun was at a bad angle so I did substitute the sky in the shot. (Not something I would normally do)

Blackwater Falls State Park, West Virginia. Blackwater Falls, a 62-foot (19 m) cascade where the Blackwater River leaves its leisurely course in Canaan Valley and enters rugged Blackwater Canyon. It is among the most photographed venues in the state and appears on calendars, stationery, and advertisements. The river is named for its tannin-darkened water. (8/2022)

Spectacular Whangarei Falls is a 26m high waterfall surrounded by park and native New Zealand bush. There is plenty of parking, a picnic area and free entry. You can view the waterfall from a choice of 3 platforms above the falls or by walking down a well-maintained gravel track to the bottom.

Whangarei Falls is located in Whangarei Scenic Reserve. The classic curtain waterfall is part of the Hatea River and one of the most popular swimming spot in the area. Easy access and a well-maintained Scenic Reserve make this waterfall one of New Zealand Must See Waterfalls.

Always a wonderful attraction to visit but the falls are not as large as they were several years ago before the adverse weather conditions and landslides.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR VISITS, COMMENTS, AWARDS AND FOR ANY INVITES.

Pleased I was able to finally get to this iconic Mt. Rainier waterfall. It's famous for lining up with Rainier nicely. Last time I was here the trails were closed for maintenance.

I'd heard Myrtle can be a tough shoot, so was here in the dark. Wasn't sure why. Short hike to get to it. It is an easy shoot actually, for just one shooter. No room for another to set up. Can't see the falls for the trees, except for this one small window.

The smoky skies enhanced the rosy glow that Rainier gets for a short time each sunrise. Who needs sleep when you can get up and begin a day with sights like this? A nap later helps tho.

Friday is here! Have a wonderful day and weekend!

Composition there just below the waterfall.

Rocks under the water falls in Niagra Falls.

While visiting Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore on Lake Superior near Munising, Michigan, we stopped by Horseshoe Falls. It sits on private property and requires an admittance fee but we feel it is worth it. This particular day was drizzly and miserable but the falls continued to show off its beauty.

The Krimml Waterfalls (German: Krimmler Wasserfälle), with a total height of 380 metres (1,247 feet), are the highest waterfall in Austria.[1] The falls are on the Krimmler Ache river and are located near the village of Krimml in the High Tauern National Park in Salzburg state.

Krimmler Waterfalls is a tiered waterfall. The waterfall begins at the top of the Krimmler Ache valley, and plunges downward in three stages. The upper stage has a drop of 140 metres, the middle of 100 metres, and the lowest a drop of 140 metres. The highest point of the waterfall is 1,470 metres above sea level.

The Krimmler Ache is a glacial stream whose flow varies greatly with season. Its volumetric flow in June and July is 20,000 m³/h (about 5.28 million gallons per hour), while in February it is only 500 m³/h (about 0.13 million gallons per hour). The greatest measured flow was on 25 August 1987, when it was 600,000 m³/h, or almost 160 million gallons per hour.

After the falls, the river joins the Salzach, which flows to the Inn, then into the River Danube and finally to the Black Sea.

To ensure that tourists could see more of the waterfall without difficulty, Ignaz von Kürsinger, from Mittersill, created a path to the upper part of the waterfall. In 1879, the Austrian Alpine Club improved the road to provide a more panoramic view. About 400,000 people visit the falls annually. The misty spray of the waterfall creates ideal growth condition for hundreds of mosses, lichens and ferns. The surroundings are the habitat for 62 bird species.[3]

There is a negative impact on the local residents due to the high traffic level in a small village, and because of erosion to the road.
