Found in the Salem,In Post Office.
How often do we pass these by without a second thought? When just 49 yrs ago Our parents knew where each one was within 5 miles of our home.
I would love to go in and see what time capsule is beyond that door.
Civil Defense Fallout Shelter Sign (ca. 1960s)
The "Posting Fallout Shelter Signs Handbook" FG-C-8.1 (June 1964) describes the sign below right as follows: "Exterior sign, Type I, size 14" x 20", aluminum, 0.025" thick with partially reflectorized surface and overlays. Used to mark facility entrances." The interior signs were made of steel.

Finished Fallout: New Vegas on hardcore mode. Decided to finish as independent New Vegas. Ended up as members of various factions; BoS, Kings, Followers. Good terms with Boomers, Mutants in Jacobstown. Novac survives.
And playing Caravan is pretty easy, made lots of caps this way, ended up with 90K at the end. Will see what Addons they'll make. Hope they'll make a continuation like the 'Broken Steel'-addon for Fallout 3.

One of two fallout shelters in western Oregon between Cottage Grove and Creswell. They are less than a mile from each other. Both were built by the same brick mason for different people in reaction to the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. I wanted to give the illusion of a nuclear blast with the lighting and edge effects. By the way, the sign just to the left of the shelter is actually there, was just a matter of positioning myself to get the placement I desired. Though a bit difficult to read due to the small size, the message on the road sign "Dead End" is most appropriate.
