Video clips from the fall dance concert exploring the theme of POWER/powerlessness by the NMH Dance Companies at Chiles Theater November 8 -10, 2018. Video by Glenn Minshall.
TODAY Sunday, November 11th, at 11:00am, NMH will commemorate the armistice signed 100 years ago -- on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month -- that ended World War I. Over 1,500 Mount Hermon Alumni served in the Great War out of a total alumni population of 9,500. The Class of '28 planted the semi-circle of white pines between Ford Cottage and Alumni Hall as a living memorial for the 69 alums who gave their last full measure and died serving in WWI. A brief service at "Memorial Grove" (or Memorial Chapel in case of rain) this Sunday at 11:00am will include the reading of their names, bag piping, bells tolling and brief remarks. Several family members of the 69 fallen Mount Hermon alumni will be in attendance. Photography by Glenn Minshall, words by Head of School Charlie Tierney.
