There is hardly a better place in my area to enjoy a perfect Autumn day than the open-air -museum in Detmold. We spent a whole day in beautiful sunshine without a cloud in this lovely location.
The LWL-Freilichtmuseum in Detmold is a great place to learn and experience the world of our ancestors. The open-air-museum is covered with buildings, tools, animals and plants of countryside life in Northwest Germany in the last couple of centuries. An endless source of inspiration for HDR photography.
The old magic forests and its tales with mythical creatures have always fascinated me. As a child, I could sit for hours and read in John Bauer's fairytale world illustrated by himself.

This is an image that I took the same morning as my previous image. I had aimed to shoot the white and frosty landscape, so when the sun came up behind the mountain I was rather disappointed at first, as I thought that now the frost would disappear. When then the fog rolled in I packed my things and wanted to leave. But suddenly, in the distance, I saw this magic light and the little tree on the hill. It was lit up by the first rays of sun and it somehow looked unreal. Fortunately I had my telephoto zoom lens mounted on my camera and I zoomed in to isolate this scene. I took a couple of frames, then the fog got thicker and the hill with the tree was gone.
The Magical Waters are found in « my » Château(De La Hulpe), of course, during the fabulous, multicolourd Autumn!! ( : Chateau De La Hulpe, or “Solvay Castle “ , Wikipedia : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solvay_Castle )

The charmingly idyllic, wildly romantic and totally iconic "Schiessentümpel" is located in Luxembourg's Mullerthal region, known as 'Little Switzerland'.
The focus of my trip to Belgium and Netherlands was clearly architecture and (of course ;-) staircases but this location was an absolute must stopover.
This spot has to be one of my favourite spots so far. It looks like it's right out of a movie or a fairytale. The falls is a bit hard to shoot as there is a bridge just above it that I didn't want in the frame. Hope you like it as much as I do!! Vlog Below!! Kris..
We could see the blue and white tower from the Viking longship long before we spotted the castle ruins on the hill. It really did seem like a village straight out of a fairytale! We climbed that hill (very steep!) and wandered among the medieval ruins of Durnstein castle. It’s famous because Richard the Lionheart was once imprisoned here. The view was magnificent! The small Austrian town is filled with quaint homes and charming shops, and you can stroll by that amazing tower of the monastery. Look closely and you’ll see vineyards on a hillside behind and to the left of the rooftops.
