Faerie World 2008 Eugene, OR

I am the leaf faerie, born of the earth and nourished by the elements of rain and sun. I herald the seasons, provide shelter to man and beast and tower even over the trees themselves. My lofty heights have inspired mortals to built cathedrals and small children to dance in an attempt to catch my leaves in their descent to the ground.

It started to sprinkle while we were at this garden...

I had a 6 Word Story for this, but now I forget what it was.... Maybe I'll remember it some other time...

I really like this drum and now have it on the super sale shelf.. This guy reminds me of something I read in a Charles De Lint book.

The boughs of the ancient oak stir with more than the weight of their dense leaves and the age of their creaking bark. They are old, older than man, and they carry what man has always sought to understand, but never been able to explain - dreams. As the cover of night glides over the world the silver-skinned dream nymph Somnaia wakes from her slumbers and emerges from the oak tree that she has made her home. She works quietly, her limber body entwined around the branches and indistinguishable from the starry night sky. To the mortal eye she is like a glimmer of moonlight on a glassy lake, or a breath of crystal night air on frosted window panes. Deftly, she weaves the dreams, and with the knowing touch of her gentle fingers she grants them freedom and bids them farewell into the night.....

And so there is the little story I concocted of Somnaia the dream nymph.

This pic took a lot of Frankensteining and a ridiculous number of layers, but I'm happy with it! :p

This figure seems largely made of the same materials as a stained glass window, only not flat.

Some of the cool stuff at my friend Gayle's shop in Seattle, the Gargoyle Statuary: gargoylestatuary.com/

This is a dancer with Kan'nal, a great band that I saw at a recent festival in Veneta, and I will see them again soon-I am really excited about that.

These two beautiful faeries noticed me taking candids of them so they walked over to where I was sitting and graciously gave me some true close-ups.

Powered Faerie in a Bottle!

talking to the little faerie sitting on my cousins window sill in her bathroom. In order to reach the faerie I had to stand on a precariously thin toilet cover on my tip toes...(its a high window- and the faerie seemed lonely).
