I usually take one mirror selfie per roll just so I remember which film camera I've used :) My memory these days needs reminding especially as I have several film cameras. This one was taken in 2019. It's also a bit unusual for me as I'm primarily left eye dominant and used my right eye to view this time.

The camera is fitted with the Cosina 100mm f/3.5 Macro lens, a surprisingly good performer. In it's native form it allows 1:2 close-up, and with it's "matched macro adapter" it goes down to 1:1 with no noticeable decrease in image quality.

Have a look at the forearms on this marbled rose-chafer (Protaetia marmorata) which I caught eating leftover watermelon in the garden compost bin. Pretty impressive spikes there.

The marbled rose-chafer is the largest rose-chafer in Sweden and just like the other eight species, they have really grippy feet. My son describes it like they've got velcro on the underside - you pick them up and then you literally have to peel them off.

Often considered to be just a lesser version of the esteemed Nikon F100, the F80 doesn't get a lot of attention. I like this camera very much; it's lighter than the F100, the AF is just as fast and it has the same excellent Nikon matrix metering. It has an inbuilt flash which the F100 lacks, but it won't meter with older Nikon MF lenses, which the F100 will. Having to decide which of these cameras to take out on a hot summers day is not an easy choice...

Here is a female scarlet mormon (Papilio rumanzovia) still drying and hardening her wings before making her virgin flight.

She has not long ago climbed out of one of the chrysalides above her after completing the metamorphosis from caterpillar.

This phot is made up of six separate exposures which I stitched together into one 163 megapixel image using Kolor Autopano Giga.

Tiny coastal settlement right on the waterfront with only vehicle access for locals to the end of the village. No gardens as such, so laundry has to be hung out for drying on the very edge of the sea.
