Wabash F7 653 at Decatur, Illinois on October 4, 1965, Kodachrome by Lou Schmitz, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 653 was built in July 1950 as Wabash 1153 ( c/n 11293 ) on EMD Order 3009, was renumbered to 653 and later became N&W 3653.
A matched pair of ex CNW F's sit with a matching caboose in the yard at Blue Island waiting for a call to power a work train, duty that they have been relegated to. Quite a fall from the prime assignments they handled for their previous owner.
Milwaukee Road F7 83C at Bensenville, Illinois on an unknown day in February 1982, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This A-B-A ( 83C-SE3-83A ) set had been reduced to transfer service and was retired by this photo date. Number 83C was built in July 1950 ( c/n 10318 ) as 72C, renumbered to 83C, retired and sold to the Indiana Transportation Museum in May 1983. Number SE3 was built in November 1951 ( c/n 15226 ) as 118B, rebuilt at West Milwaukee Shops as Slug SE2 in April 1974, renumbered to SE3 a month later. Number 83A was built in January 1951 ( c/n 11803 ) as 110C, renumbered to 83A, sold to the Indiana Transportation Museum in May 1983.

This beautiful, two-tone painted DKW F7 I found at the Classic Car Meeting on the Phoenix West grounds in Dortmund Hörde.
Legendary "Runaway Train" from the movie by Andrei Konchalovsky. Locomotives GP40 + F7 + GP7 + GP7 and my favorite villains: Manny (Jon Voight) and Buck (Eric Roberts). Stickers by OKBrickWorks, thank you Andy.
New York Central Railroad F7 1680 on a transfer run at Proviso, Illinois on January 9, 1966, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This locomotive was built in April 1951 (c/n 9104) on EMD Order 3012A and traded back to EMD in May 1967.
Well worn North Western F7 409 departs Mount Prospect IL. with "Commuter Streamliner" in February 1980.
C&O painted F7 7094 has a short freight in tow along the Cheat River on the old Western Maryland. In her previous life she was Milwaukee Road 109-A.

Preserved F7 loco 5451 preserved in a park in Port Hedland on 19-6-15.
5450 and 5451 were sold to Mt Newman Mining from Western Pacific Railroad in 1968. The units were delivered by sea to Dampier then a combination of road and rail to Port Hedland where they worked on construction trains and later as shunters until withdrawn.
Both have been preserved with 5450 at the Pilbara Rail Historical Society at Karratha.
5451 was originally numbered 923A and built in January 1951.
A solo F7 powers Soo Line train No. 21 as it passes the grain elevators in Altoona on the way to Shoreham Yard in Minneapolis in 1977.

CNW F7 411 spent the winter inside the shop at Illinois Railway Museum. The Cummins HEP plant decided to leak, A LOT, everywhere. She received a lot of TLC over the winter, with a little more to go.
Kansas City Southern Railway F7 71 at Heavener, Oklahoma, slide mount stamped JUN 81. By matching the hand-written road number on the mount with other slides in my collection, it looks like Kodachrome by Paul L. Strang, Chuck Zeiler collection. Other than the number 71, the slide was unmarked. Paul's comments: Just to east of Heavener, OK shop on Y. This is the power for the Arkansas Western branch to Waldron, AR.
The book, Kansas City Southern in the Deramus Era, by Louis A Marre and Gregory J Sommers, states that number 71 was built October 20, 1949 ( c/n 7875 ) as KCS 71A, renumbered to KCS 71, renumbered to KCS 4057 at Shreveport on April 31, 1978, out-of-service February 11, 1982, retired September 13, 1985, sold to Mountain Diesel April 15, 1988

here is a better shot of the ABBA set of F7's on the train going to Cedar Rapids through the deep snows of 1979. Location is between Green Island and Delmar, Iowa.
Wabash F7 1189 is framed by the crossing lights and gates at 3rd Street in Illiopolis as it gets towed back east to Decatur.

Monon F7 83 at Indianapolis, Indiana on February 4, 1987, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 83 was built in January 1951 ( c/n 11803 ) as Milwaukee Road 110C, renumbered to 83A (2nd), sold to the Indiana Transportation Museum as 83A in May 1983. It was repaired and repainted in a solid maroon and yellow stripes color scheme during August 1983 and lettered for "Fair Train '83", repainted again in August 1985 in former Monon Railroad's red, gray, and black color scheme and numbered 83.
