The owner of this property has several old cars in his yard. You can see them (as I post them) here www.flickr.com/photos/tags/20230619oldcarsinrochelle
Right now, I have posted two - there will be at least 2 more.
We had a chance to chat with the owner while we were taking pictures. He said he was planning on tearing this house down. We suggested he have the local fire department burn it down. They do that in these parts as a training exercise.
They spend several days setting up drills, burning parts of the building, etc. Then when they've used the place up, they burn it down for you. Saves the wrecking costs, and you make good friends with the firefighters!
That's always handy when you have to call them for help when you've "fallen and you can't get up." For those of you from outside the US or if you're too young to get this reference, here ya go. youtu.be/myfGdhZtKa4
BTW, the FD WILL come out and help if this happens. We had to call them once for just this situation.

Normally i post analogue pictures here, but i recently found on one of my hard disks a folder with digital images i took 12 years ago with a Fujifilm FinePix F30 while riding a bus on a rainy day in the city of Krasnodar in South Russia.
Immediately after the ceremony, as we came down the aisle and paused at the steps, I surprised Ginger (and everyone else) by pulling out my compact camera and taking a picture. It is a shame I didn't get a chance to check the pictures properly as they were all very blurred. That was rather disappointing because I had practiced this shot a few days before. But what the heck, this is it.

A random image from the venerable Fuji F30, my first Fuji camera and quite a decent compact. While the dynamic range is not up to the standard of later compacts, under the right conditions the F30 is capable of lovely images.

I've always wanted to do a P90 style, rifle caliber machinegun. I made a few attempts before but they all got scrapped, but somehow yesterday I just kinda' sat down, started this and really liked where it was going. So, enjoy! Replaced the photo because the code I used didn't have the right handguard, but now it's a bit fuzzy D:
Cartridge: 7.62x51mm
Fire Rate: 660 rpm
Range: 800 meters
Capacity: 75 rounds/mag
Extras: Any rail attachment, suppressor, sling
Hailing from Belgium, the F30 Infantry Support Weapon is the next generation in squad automatic weapons. Developed in 2030, the F30 is intended to replace older machinegun platforms such as the MINIMI and its many variants. It uses an FN P90 style magazine, with spent brass ejected from the lower receiver just behind the grip. While the F30 doesn't have quite the same capacity and sustained fire capability of many of the platforms it is slated to replace, it trades this for quicker reload times, increased accuracy and significantly reduced weight. Because of its versatility, the F30 has seen immediate success. As such, a few additional variants are under development, including: F30B 5.56x45mm variant, F30SS high capacity DMR variant and the F30CQ fully automatic 20 gauge shotgun variant.
One of the the few shots that didn't make it into Mins feature on FRESHonSTANCE.com.
This is also a test run of a couple of new things I have in the works.
I'm slowly starting to push my photo editing skills in Photoshop CS6. I'm the kind of guy that enjoys simple and clean edits. Nothing too destructive to the original image. For this edit I did a few tones and curves along with applying a couple of filters that I've created. Then added a little dodging and burring to the car to bring out some details and enhance the curvature of the car.
My objective was to really bring out what it feels like to be in Dallas, TX and I'm happy to say I think I've achieved that look.
I also toying around with the idea of a new more "Professional" watermark. Let me know if you think it takes always from the picture or is too distracting

"all time favourites" In photography, I'm not sure if there is right or wrong, even good or bad, but there are certainly the interesting or the boring, like or dislike. These are the ones I like most...
