Harvest Memories: Annapolis Valley, NS :Nikon D500 with a 18.0-55mm, F3.5-5.6 lens at F16 a shutter speed 1/60 sec at a ISO 800 (48mm) Close up capture.

Shortly before sunrise, Canadian Pacific's F16 turn job between Northern Maine Junction and Brownville Junction is seen hustling through Milo. CP SD40-2 6024 (with intact class lights) is leading a pair of CP GP38-2s past the old Bangor & Aroostook freight house, a sight I never thought I'd see.

F16, with the FS15 crew, drifts downgrade alongside the Sebec River into Milo, the bright red of the three GP20ECOs popping nicely among the remaining foliage of the season. I haven't really had a chance to shoot any of the GP20s yet, so when I found out that F16 had died at Brownville Junction this morning, I elected to chase that south rather than chase 251 west, matching up with a couple friends in the process.

Just messing around, not sure if the wonky angle is dynamic or just a gimmick ? The plane could be sharper though lol !

The F16 is being phased out, but you can still try sitting in one at the various airshows.

On the way north for a day on the MNR, we lucked out as we had hoped with a late F16. They were completing the turn from NMJ to Brownville not long after the sun had come up and we caught up to them southbound at the chip reload in S. Lagrange around 07:45. The trio of ECO's looked nice as they hauled 44 south for Northern Maine Junction and points west on Pan Am.

The Hellenic Air Force were rehearsing for an air show on "Oxi day" (= No-day, Επέτειος του Όχι), commemorating Greece's refusal to accept the ultimatum given by fascist Italy in 1940 during World War II.

Oxi day is commemorated on 28 October.

There were 4,600 F-16 aircrafts built since 1976. Although no longer purchased by the United States Air Force (USAF), improved versions are being built for export. As of 2025, it is the world's most common fixed-wing aircraft in military service, with 2,084 F-16s operational.
