This picture of mine was based on a photo of a forest scene at the foot of Mt.Fuji.

Here's another from this chase I didn't even remember making but in all fairness there were a lot of these runs down along the 'Arm' over the years.
Three GP40-2s in matching modern paint lead train 120S with another load of containers headed toward Whittier and a date with yet another Alaska Marine Lines barge up from Seattle.
This causeway adjacent the Seward Highway is popular photo spot at about MP 67 on the Alaska Railroad mainline. In just about four miles they'll reach CP F120 and the switch at the north leg of the wye for the CTC controlled Whittier Branch for the dozen mile run to the port town on Prince William Sound. Of that 12 miles more than 25% of that trip will be underground as they pass through nearly 3.5 miles of tunnels beneath the peaks and glaciers of the coastal mountains.

Erkilet is a district located on the northern part of Kayseri city, Turkey. Erkilet was a separate town, popular with its vineyards, in the past. In Erkilet, there were mansions of the rich people of Kayseri, which were used as resorts along with the vineyards. However, during the last 50 years, many people left the town due to economic reasons. Recently, the town became a district of the Kayseri city and municipal authorities are trying to revive the town again by refurbishing old mansions and historical buildings.

This work is to express the sign of the end of autumn and the soon coming cold winter. Of course it's my work.
Here's another shot from a fun late winter chase during my favorite month of the year for photography in the Last Frontier
Three original bought new GP40-2s dressed in matching modern paint lead Alaska Railroad train 120S with a long string of COFC cars headed from Anchorage toward Whittier and a date with yet another Alaska Marine Lines barge up from Seattle. They are seen passing through the 'snow cut' at the very treacherous and active slide zone 72 south of Girdwood. In less than eight miles they'll reach CP F120 and the switch at the north leg of the wye for the CTC controlled Whittier Branch for the dozen mile run to the port town on Prince William Sound. Of that 12 miles more than 25% of that trip will be underground as they pass through nearly 3.5 miles of tunnels beneath the peaks and glaciers of the coastal mountains.

The northbound Coastal Classic arrives at CP F120 a small CTC island in the middle of 105 miles of track warrants. Basically a giant wye that allows traffic to and from Whittier to head in either direction. The south end of the wye is used daily by the Glacier Discovery and on occasion the work trains.
Have you seen a cheetah hunt? Better yet, have you seen cheetah hunt as a team?
Cheetahs are mostly solitary animals but males sometimes form small coalitions of 2-3 individuals. These coalitions are often short lived and are predominately made of brother with occasional stray males. However, an unexpected coalition of five males (2 brothers, 3 unrelated males) formed in the Mara in 2016 and is strong to this day. Their bonding behavior, social hierarchy, and hunting techniques advanced our understanding of these wild creatures. Since, three of the coalition members have past away. In these images, you will see two of the remaining members successful hunt a large topi!
The main weapons of a cheetah are speed and agility. As the fastest land animal, cheetah can sprint at 70 miles (110km)/h with the same acceleration of a Ferrari F120! What's really interesting is this coalition of males developed additional unique and effective hunting techniques. There is a little heat haze in this image.
Once both cheetahs have attacked the topi, one of them immediately covers the eyes of their prey.
Then they dragged their prey to the ground while biting its neck trying to close off its windpipe.

While things looked pretty gloomy in Anchorage I had hopes that the weather might clear up so I decided to head out. I am glad I did as the weather did indeed improve. I popped down to Portage to catch the Coastal Classic returning to civilization. Seen here at CP F120 have just descended the grade out of the Kenai Mountains.
My previous post explains why I was out and before snapping that shot I was able to grab this one of the combined CN/ARMS barge interchange traffic followed by containers. The sun just couldn't hold out long enough as the clouds came in and obscured the sun just as the train arrived in Portage. Three MACs and 9000 tons and some 7,000' feet of train glide off the Whittier Branch at CP F120.
The Ferrari F40 (tipo F120) is a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports car engineered by Nicola Materazzi with styling by Pininfarina. It was built from 1987 to 1992, with the LM and GTE race car versions continuing production until 1994 and 1996 respectively. As the successor to the 288 GTO (also engineered by Materazzi), it was designed to celebrate Ferrari's 40th anniversary and was the last Ferrari automobile personally approved by Enzo Ferrari. At the time it was Ferrari's fastest, most powerful, and most expensive car for sale.
It is a studless Lego model in the 8 studs wide Speed Champions scale. Building instructions and more info on the links:

Built as the successor to the 288GTO, between 1987-92 with the LM and GTE race car versions continuing production until 1994 and 1996 respectively, it held the title as the Worlds Fastest Street Legal Car. The F40 is so called due to its introduction coinciding with the companies 40th anniversary. The suspension set up as similar to the GTO with a double wishbone set up and the ultra low ground clearance also prompted Ferrari to develop a device to allow for the cars clearance to be raised when necessary. The body was a new design by Pininfarina featuring panels of Kevlar, carbon fibre and aluminium and drag was kept to an impressive 0.34. Weight was minimised with use of a plastic wind screen and windows, an absence of carpet and sound system and the first 50 cars had only sliding windows although later models windows could be lowered.
This car had been serving as brand ambassador for PADDLUP, a classic car investment company During that time, the F40 has attended numerous events developing the PADDLUP brand. Sold after several years, when the company had an offer they could not refuse. During this time the Ferrari has gone from its classic Ferrari red colour, to grey and bearing the PADDLUP logo. When Paddlups Joe Priday acquired the F40 it was described as looking used and definitely not concourse thanks to Joe and PaddlUp CEO Tim Mayneord, the F40 found a new lease of life. It was wrapped in the brand colours – initially to mixed reviews from those who saw it and began causing quite a stir. When it came to the wrap itself there was only one man for the job, Yiannimize was enlisted in April 2021 and by June of that year, they were ready to launch the PaddlUp
