Mom says, "Lets get your Christmas photo taken." She did not at anytime mention that I would have to wear this humiliating "Tree" hat.

Gazing upon Roque de los Muchachos, one of the best places in the world for stargazing. These domes house powerful telescopes that help us unravel the mysteries of the universe. A magical place on a magical island! ✨🔭

I got a really narrow DOF as this tarantula crawled practically onto my camera (yes, friends, I was on the ground with him). The bokeh was fine by itself, but I was spurred on by a comment on yesterday's tarantula from Sonora Guy that these guys might be related to Vulcans. They do look other-worldly! Or possibly... they look like miniature robots, exploring other worlds... So I texturized the foreground and background blur with a photo from NASA's public archives of photos taken by the Mars Rover. The title quote is famous - from NASA administrator Sean O'Keefe at the successful landing of the Rover as we resumed exploration of the red planet. There's a lotta work ahead for this hairy little rover!

Not sure of the location of this, as got very lost trying to find it. A great day had here and definetly worth the visit. The locals in charge of this area were incredibly great fun.
