Standing here in the stillness, I felt a deep sense of peace and clarity. Moments like this can’t be predicted. They’re earned by showing up. Being out, waiting, trusting the process will always beat staying home wondering what if.

📅 Opened in 1826 as part of the main road between London and Holyhead.

💰 Travellers once had to pay a toll to cross.
🚶 Today it’s a pedestrian bridge, giving visitors incredible views of the castle and estuary.
🌍 It’s one of the oldest surviving road suspension bridges in the world.

Standing just off the B5106 in the Conwy Valley, this grand late-Georgian structure is a place thousands drive past every day, likely assuming it is merely a beautiful, decaying relic of the 1840s. But look closer, and the story becomes much more interesting.
Built in 1840 to replace the ancient (and much more remote) 12th-century "Old" Church high on the slopes of Tal-y-Fan, this "New" church served the community for over 140 years before closing its doors to worship in the 1980s.
Today, it lives a second life. While the surrounding churchyard remains a public space—quietly maintained by the council and the parish—the church building itself has been transformed into a private sculptor's studio. The weathered slate headstones and overgrown greenery give it a haunting, abandoned aesthetic, yet inside, it remains a place of creation.

On this calm morning, the still waters reflected the surrounding mountains and soft light, creating a peaceful atmosphere that perfectly captured the quiet beauty of North Wales. A timeless scene where solitude, reflection, and nature come together in perfect harmony.

Rhaeadr Mawddach – Exploring Rhaeadr Mawddach located in Coed-y-Brenin Forest is a joy. The area has gorges and hidden buildings scattered around the forest all waiting to be explored. This bridge crosses Afon Mawddach (River Mawddach) upstream from where the Afon Gain joins the Mawddach.
Dinorwic Quarry is an amazing location for any photographer, with so many subjects to photograph you can be spoilt for choice. This image is of Dali's Hole, in Dinorwic Quarry, the water is always a rice turquoise colour and is best seen when the sky is overcast. This was a rushed photograph taken in late Autumn during heavy rain squalls. I need to go back when there is not so much water flowing, and the small slate shelter becomes exposed above the surface of the pool.
