This little fellow is an expert in his field! A Grey Squirrel that loves peanuts. How does a Squirrel in this part of the country grow up to know that this is something good to eat. The Peanuts don't grow locally, so someone must have taught them that they are good!

Taken at Gosforth park among the reed beds had me thinking this was a Reed Warbler but i'm not sure, legs seem too dark but as i am no expert i will leave it to the experts to put me right :)

This morning the first Alpen Express of this season arrived back in The Netherlands. The picture was made at Lisse. Unfortunately the sun started to shine 15 minutes after the train passed by.

Vanmorgen kwam de eerste Alpen Express van dit seizoen weer terug in Nederland. De foto is bij Lisse. Helaas begon de zon pas te schijnen toen de trein al 15 minuten voorbij was.

An F/A-18F from VFA-122 Flying Eagles (radio callsign EXPERT) returns to NAF El Centro after a training mission over the nearby ranges.

A white stork efficiently dispatching an eel - apparently their favourite food - on the Ria Formosa at Ludo. The eel was found, killed and swallowed in well under a minute.

On closer inspection the male Snow Bunting in the middle has been ringed. I have never seen one with a ring before.

I'm no expert, but wasn't aware that this is done with SB's in the UK. If there is an expert out there I would love to know where in the world he has come from.

I don't see a path forward, but then again, I have flat feet, and only two.

Not a tank expert, but appears to be a Soviet made T-62 tank. It sits just off the road at Beale AFB, CA, near the entrance to the gun range.

Not knowing the history of this tank, it was probably one used by the US Marine Corps. The United States Marine Corps (USMC) obtained T-62 tanks from Egypt and Israel. The USMC used these tanks at the National Training Center.

The T-62 Main Battle Tank is a Soviet-era armored vehicle.

It was designed in the early 1960s and saw extensive use during the Cold War.

The T-62 featured advanced technology for its time, including a smoothbore gun and composite armor.

The T-62 Main Battle Tank (MBT) was the last in a series of excellent Soviet tank designs that began with the T-34 in the late 1930s.

T-62 production began in 1962, and an estimated 20,000 were built during the next eight years.

The T-62 was not as successful as Soviet designers had hoped. Its main gun could not be aimed low enough to deal with attacking infantry, and its rate of fire was slowed by the complicated fire control system.

In Oktober 2023 vonden er grootschalige werkzaamheden plaats tussen Leeuwarden en Akkrum waarbij een groot deel van het spoor vernieuwd werd. Om de vuile ballast af te voeren vanuit de kettinghor naar de depots werd er gebruik gemaakt van de Rail Experts 6004 met een aantal RIWL Sgmmns. Op de foto duwt de RXP 6004 een aantal Sgmmns over de HRMK spoorbrug in Leeuwarden naar de verderop gelegen werklocatie.

I believe these are Common Wasps (Vespula vulgaris) devouring my runner beans. Happy to be corrected by any Wasp experts out there. Nikon D850 with Sigma 105mm f2.8 macro lens.

These ground squirrels have recently moved into this levee/bank and are in the process of bringing it down. Natures Way.
