Asplundh tree experts to the rescue. These guys certainly had their work cut out for them, or rather had some cutting work to do on their own.
On 30-31 May, Austria and Colombia Co-Chairs of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention’s Standing Committee on Victim Assistance convened a victim assistance technical experts’ workshop, “Assistance to Child Victims of Landmines/ERW”.
The workshop was supported by the Convention's Implementation Support Unit.

Please be aware... I am no coin expert. Titles here are either what I was told when acquiring these or are from a simple Google search. I make no claim as to them being 100% accurate but I make an effort to be as factual as I am able when posting. There may well be some duplication of coin type or variety, but I try not to double post any single coins. My feeble brain may slip on that from time to time. These are all from my semi worthless collection of world coins from over the years. Little to no value exists in most (if not all) of them. They are just a hobby. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Multi-Center NASA Social: Preview Orion’s First Flight Test Launch
For the first time ever, all 10 NASA field centers participated in a multi-center NASA Social event on Dec. 3 and previewed the Dec. 4 first flight of the Orion Spacecraft on Exploration Flight Test-1.
NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory & NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center, Pasadena, Calif.
The Jet Propulsion Laboratory in partnership with the agency’s Armstrong Flight Research Center hosted up to 40 social media followers to JPL to learn about the Southern California centers' contributions to Orion and NASA's Journey to Mars.
The program included a behind-the-scenes tour of JPL, with stops at the Mars Yard, where engineering models of our Curiosity rover are tested in a sandy Mars-like environment; and the Spacecraft Assembly Facility, where hardware for upcoming projects is under construction.
Guests interacted with those who design, build, test and operate the robots that precede human explorers, as well as those developing new technology, like the Low-Density Supersonic Decelerator (LDSD), a system that will help land humans safely on Mars.
Experts from NASA Armstrong will discussed their role in testing Orion’s Launch Abort System, designed to propel the Crew Module safely from a launch pad or in-flight emergency. An Armstrong pilot gave a briefing on NASA’s Ikhana unmanned aircraft system (UAS), which served as a chase aircraft feeding live video of the Orion capsule as it made its way to splashdown on Dec. 4.
This fellow is an expert at shearing sheep with hand shears. It took him a bit longer to shear the sheep than those who used the electric shears, but his skill was nevertheless evident.

Cordyline stricta grows in large numbers at Raintrees Native and Rainforest Gardens and is endemic to Diamond Beach and the wider Mid North Coast.
Many years ago I purchased a few maroon fruiting cordylines from Dingo Creek Rainforest Nursery at Bobin, NSW. They were sold to me identified as Cordyline stricta at that time. The leaves are slightly broader than the native C. stricta occurring here.
Over the years I've collected lots of Cordyline seed from many different species and grown many cordylines which have since been planted out.
Since neither Cordyline congesta nor Cordyline rubra occur on the Lower Mid North Coast, it appears to me that there is either another maroon fruiting species in the area or else maroon fruit is considered within the colour range for Cordyline stricta. An alternative theory might be that cordyline stricta has hybridised with Cordyline rubra or Cordyline congesta and that hybridised plants or seed was sourced from the north coast and planted in the lower mid north coast area from which local nurseries have grown plants on for sale.
Some of the lower Mid North Coast Cordyline stricta I've come across have quite severe serrations on the leaf so it becomes difficult when faced with a leaf with serrations and maroon fruit to make an identification or to narrow down to which species C. stricta has hybridised with, especially if the leaf takes on some of the attributes of either C. rubra or C. congesta.
The width of the leaf, and the width and shape of the petiole, may provide a better basis for a more accurate identification of some of these maroon fruiting cordylines as the flowers appear quite similar between the species, although an expert may say otherwise.
I would be most interested to hear if others have come across maroon fruiting versions of what superficially might appear to be Cordyline stricta.
Cordyline hybridisation does appear to be common and I've wondered if other hybrids are occurring naturally north of the NSW Mid North Coast.
A wide selection of Australian native Cordylines are growing on Raintrees, except Cordyline sp. 'Mount Banda Banda', including a number of hybrids, mainly with Cordyline stricta.
I suspect that there needs to be some taxonomical work done with cordylines and I welcome any alternate identifications for my images.

With wildfires becoming increasingly frequent and intense, droughts gripping the land, and sea levels steadily rising, it's evident that climate change has reached a critical point in California.
The state is grappling with the profound impacts of this global crisis. How has climate change transformed California's landscapes, from the scorching valleys to the towering forests? What are the consequences for society, including agriculture, public health, and economic stability? In the face of such challenges, what insights can experts like Prof. Dr. Sonia I. Seneviratne and Prof. Dr. Noah Diffenbaugh offer to shed light on the gravity of the situation and provide potential solutions? Join us as we delve into the pressing issue of climate change in California and its profound effects on society.
Prof. Dr. Sonia I. Seneviratne from ETH Zurich and Prof. Dr. Noah Diffenbaugh from Stanford University's Doerr School of Sustainability will be presenting their work and personal research projects on Global Warming, taking first a global perspective and then diving into the local effects we have all witnessed in the past few years.

Students from the HOME group went to other tables where they became EXPERTS on specific parts of the material.
Then they returned HOME to share.
Excellent strategy when you need all students to cover all material.
I was struggling all day with a "diagonal" shot, but while I was sitting at "Frodo" (one of the computers at my job), I noticed a glaringly obvious diagonal leading up to the owner's offices.
Snapped with my iPhone out of shear laziness, and edited in Lightroom.
@dailyshoot: "Make a photograph today with a diagonal line leading the viewer's eye through the composition.
So I being the person I am, I got really bored and decided to go through my external HD to see if there were any photos I wanted to upload today. Strangely enough there were.
I took this during an internship the summer of 2012. This was taken at Deep Run Hunt Club in Manakin-Sabot, VA.
