Experimental film using only 35mm film cinema stock, flashlight and a clear plastic frog. No camera, no lens, no edits. Each frame exposed one at a time with a flashlight. It was very slow film, (ISO 5).

My title "psychofrog" is sort of a small tribute to another avant-garde film called "Psycho Porpoise" by Rock Ross, which is an inspiration to me.

Half a way to say thanks to the javanese people who seems enjoying a lot one album of the netlabel. And… another half I was waiting for a while to do a video art clip with Phil Morton early computer generated video art, also creator of the copy-it-right an exemple for everybody who believe in free(share)culture.

Thanks so much to every friends helping me this year in projects such as

MACHINIMA AND THE ALLURE OF EPHEMERALITY: GAMEPLAY, LIVE STREAMS & DIGITAL CULTURE

LANGUAGE: ENGLISH

In this talk, Jenna Ng will address the explosion of interest in the live streaming of gameplay as witnessed in the popularity of Twitch, whose latest number of daily active users has reached 15 million, as well as other major platforms such as YouTube Gaming, Mixer, and Facebook Live. Specifically, the talk will link the current phenomenon of video game live streams with machinima and its origins in game demos and captured videogame play, arguing not only for live streams to be the next logical evolution for machinima, but also for a critical theorisation of screen media that pursues a realist trajectory, one which potentially works its way from neorealist cinema to drone culture.

Jenna Ng first trained as a finance lawyer in Singapore and London before switching to film studies, in which she obtained a PhD from University College London (UCL), and currently teaches film and interactive media at the University of York, UK. She is the editor of Understanding Machinima: Essays on Filmmaking in Virtual Worlds (Bloomsbury, 2013) and her current book project, Undoing the Screen: Space, Spectacle, Surface (Palgrave), explores the effacing of screen boundaries in relation to contemporary display technologies and the resulting erasure between images, objects, surfaces and spaces.

> The Teaching and Learning Cinema presents '16mm from the '70s', a screening of films by artist Malcolm Le Grice at Belconnen Arts Centre, 13 April, 6pm.

>

> On Saturday 13 April, 7 artworks on 16mm film by Malcolm Le Grice will screen at Belconnen Arts Centre.

>

> The works are on loan from the National Film and Sound Archive and the Lux in London.

>

> In the 1960s, some artists started experimenting with film. They explored the medium in new ways, thinking about what happened if you threw the pieces of cinema in the air - the projector, the screen, the room, the audience - and reorganised them. Malcolm's work explored the physical aspects of the film strip - what happens when you use a film printer to reprint, recolour in lots of permutations. What happens when you think of film as an event and a performance - when the attention of the audience is drawn to the time it actually took for the film to be exposed to light - a very slow cinema. What happens when the film in the projector is just one part of the experience for the audience?

>

> The films demonstrate to us the power of cinema when it turns its back on narrative.

>

> These works come to us from a time when telephones had bells in them and typing pools prepared letters that travelled only by post. Yet these concerns of real time vs mediated time, the physical foundation to the image vs its power to transport us had a lucidity and an urgency about them that is as relevant now as it was then.
