On the 27th April 2022 the tanker 'Exol Pride' (1979, 650DWT) passes under Wash Lane Bridge in Aldwarke with a cargo from Hull to Rotherham for Exol Lubricants. This is currently the last barge operating on the Yorkshire Canals and the last in the UK. A very sad state of affairs compared to the rest of Europe.
On the 27th April 2022 the 'Exol Pride' leaves Aldwarke Lock with a cargo from Hull to Exol Lubricants, Rotherham.
Ambling along the South Yorkshire Canal at Parkgate is the barge Exol Pride which is on its way presumably back to Hull after bringing raw materials from Hull ro be refined at the Exol Lubricants plant in Rotherham.
On the rails 150272 is working the 2R06 Sheffield - Doncaster just passing the Parkgate Sheffield Supertram stop

Having seen the barge Exol Pride at Parkgate a few hours earlier , it disappears into the distance as the 7M18 Doncaster Up Decoy - Toton drops onto the Thrybergh branch at Mexborough
A regular working for the 69's 69001 is topped by 66705 this particular morning .

Not the best timing, but as we headed off to catch 66771 at Mexborough the oil barge rounded the corner. Moments late 66771 was let out onto the Swinton to Doncaster line at Mexborough.
Just looked and it's not just a barge.
The current position (9th June 2024) of EXOL PRIDE is at North Sea reported 5 days ago by AIS. The vessel is en route to 14 QUAY KGD, sailing at a speed of 10.0 knots and expected to arrive there on Jun 3, 19:55. The vessel EXOL PRIDE (IMO 7803437, MMSI 235065013) is a Oil Products Tanker built in 1979 (45 years old) and currently sailing under the flag of United Kingdom
Retract that, described as an inland tanker.
