ABU DHABI - AL WATHBA FOSSIL DUNES
This fossil dunes here are 100% natural rock formations. They come into existence the same way as sand dunes – thanks to sand-laden winds that flow over a very long period of time. The sand, in the case of fossil dunes, is infused with calcium carbonate. This is why it gets hardened over time and takes the form of abstract natural sculpture.
They look like dancing dunes 😉
The site of Al Wathba Fossil Dunes has been a popular spot among Hollywood filmmakers. Several movies, including the famed Six Underground and Star Wars: The Force Awakens feature these dunes.

The motif is
Pale Rider of Death

Despite the existence of cloud classifications, identifying cloud types seems, to me, more of an art form - I've noticed that subjectivity plays a role. Considering highly variable cloud shapes, many will not fit exactly into a preconceived "category". For example, I've been told that a cloud releasing precipitation is not a nimbus cloud, even though that's the definition of a nimbus cloud.
I'll give it a try, however - the examples seen here from an airplane over the Carolinas appear consistent with stratus and stratocumulus clouds.
