I'm always excited when a new iteration of Drune opens both because they're always SO fun to explore and also for the photographic opportunities (and unique challenges) present within.
I've had this shot in my hip pocket for a few days trying to decide if I'd enter it in the photo contest (still going on! See the marvelous Sparklebottom Lasertits' post HERE ). While I'm not happy enough with it to do so, I'll still share with all you lovelies.
This is the second time I've done something on the theme of falling to my death in Drune. I'm not sure what it is about the place that draws me in that direction. I'm sure part of it is the incredible verticality present that I always want to show off in some way, but there's something more primal going on--Something in the wind of this big, rough, exotic and dangerous future that whispers in the ear of an insignificant little girl "Join me."
I need to interrupt the beauty of Hawrelak Park with this bulletin. After I returned from Hawrelak and had some time to warm up, it came to my attention that the squirrel was some upset over the mouse showing him up in the levitation department. He called me over and gave me a severe dressing down and insisted that I document the fact that he’s still the supreme ruler over all things levitation. You know me, there was no way I was going to decline this opportunity and my fingers had recuperated by that time. We were a definite go for this. He did not disappoint, I was blown away. He actually showed me his best stuff. And this, Ladies and Gentlemen, is why competition rules. It propels us to hitherto unknown heights. Both of us were, to say the least, somewhat excited …
Just a couple of more technical things about levitation here. Most of you may be under the impression that levitation is something that happens in slow motion like when an Indian guru does it. Well, most of the time, this is not the case. You have to be on your toes because the event is over in the flash of an eyeblink. Speaking of being on your toes, like many of my other shots, including the ones from Hawrelak, I employed my favorite shooting technique, the sitting down and enjoying life scenario. This one taken from my swing bench. So, don’t get too hung up over which is the proper shooting stance and how your feet should be positioned for this or that, just relax and get it done :-)

Believe it or not, this looks pretty cool when pressing on the + thingy.
I get excited when I spot colourful fungi. Green ones are quite uncommon. Mycena flavovirens is a New Zealand endemic species. It is restricted to high rainfall forests that contain tree ferns, notably Cyathea. It occurs in clusters on fallen tree fern trunks and is easily identified from its habit and yellow-green colouration. The cap is a darker green at the centre and yellowish towards the margin. The stipe is yellowish at the top and green towards the base. Cap diameter: up to 10 mm (0.4 inch)

Can you image me being excited by the display of all these warm colors! I usually leave the sun out of my photo but today the colors appeared after sunrise. Isn't this a lovely jetty, but I wonder .... why isn't it symmetrical?

Once upon a time... on another beautiful morning in Tuscany. When you visit these extremely popular locations, everything at least should be perfect... The morning turned out to be nice and misty and there were pastel colors everywhere! I chose a bit lower angle to shoot Podere Belvedere and as a very wide panorama of which this is a part.
To make the fairytale complete, 4 roe deer were grazing in the midground here and they can be seen in the full-res version. Those are hardly visible on Flickr unfortunately.

I was so excited to see an egret fishing in this area, as it is a rare sighting for me…
I am more likely to see them in flight…
A couple of minutes later, a pair of red-winged blackbirds took exception to this large bird and chased it away…
There are many red-winged blackbirds in this area with nests…
They did not like my presence on the trail at times either…
Maybe the egret will return another day…

Bald Eagles mate for life. The females are usually larger - perhaps the one on the left. She was perched alone with command of the beach below when her juvenile offspring caused her to momentarily "jump" to avoid his erratic landing. Her protests were notable and loud enough to summon Dad who also got in on the act. The youngster found a place to land a couple of trees down.
This is the only picture which I DID NOT do any color, brightness and etc adjust. Direct converted from RAW to Jpeg.

I'm excited to be part of the next iteration of the New Hashima City collab, coming to Brickworld in 2023. My first contribution is a futuristic freight train running around the docks. This is the first completed car, namely the engine. Several more on the way.
This is for the industrial section of the city, so the neon of cyberpunk is toned down a bit for a more industrial look, but at the same time I wanted it to look like it belonged in that world. It was a delicate balance.
The engine carries a PoweredUp battery case to power the headlights, but I intend to run it on 9V for the collab. I just don't want the headlight brightness tied to the speed regulator power. This is quite a bit larger than the standard 6-stud wide Lego train, which makes it quite heavy. I've tried to control me urge to go crazy with ALL THE TECHNIQUES since it can't be too heavy to move, and it also has to not fall apart from the vibration. I settled for sticking to mostly small lightweight angled sections that would not need to fight against gravity, making a single finger hinge or clip sufficient for support.

Here I am, standing on the shoreline just after 3:30 in the morning, the horizon is already ablaze with colour, I’m excited. My tripod is already out and waiting for the camera as I rapidly change my lens under the illumination of my head torch, I’ll use my super EF16-35 f4L, I’m excited. I look for an early composition, these rock platforms look fantastic, leading lines galore carved out by millennia of sea erosion, I’m excited. It’s still low light, to keep that colour on the horizon I need a ND grad, I decide to use a medium 2 stop to lift the foreground darkness, I’m excited. I frame the image, check the settings, f11, calculate the shutter speed, back to ISO 100 and bulb, this is fun, I’m excited. The first photo taken with a 76 second exposure, I check the results but no pressure it’s still 40 minutes from sunrise, did I say I’m excited. The first photo of the morning, the day before the summer solstice, the time is 3:40.

Today I'm very excited: I'm about to go on a shooting expedition.
Not here in my usual surroundings, but over in The Big City. In a neighbourhood I've always always ALWAYS wanted to shoot.
It's rough. Um... very rough. But I have (for the first time ever) friends going with me. Good friends. Old friends. One of whom just bought his first DSLR and can't wait to get out and try all its coolness.
So... yeah. The roughest neighbourhood in Canada awaits me, with all its dirt and decay and decrepitude.
To quote my hero Paul Westerberg, I can't hardly wait.
I’m so excited to be back for February Alphabet Fun Month! It makes winter fun. I have a lot of plants, so I decided to try to take a picture for a plant whose name begins with each letter of the alphabet. I may have to cheat a little on some of the letters. :-) I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s post and hope to be able to keep up.
The anthurium is a heart shaped flower that appears in stores around Christmas and Valentines Day because of its heart shaped leaves. It also comes in other colors like pink, white, and striped. It’s also known as “flamingo flower” and “painter’s palette”. All of my plants have names, and this is Athena. I have an app that keeps track of all my plants and tells me when to water them, and what kind of care they need. It requires that they have names, so I have named all of my plants. The app’s name is Greg.

The relationships between the general population in Israel and the Ultra-Orthodox Jewish community are always tensed: The general population feels the Ultra-Orthodox do not contribute enough (don't serve in the army, don't participate in the work force); while the Ultra-Orthodox feel their values (mainly studying, and worshiping the Lord) are not honored.
Naturally, things become even more tensed these days when the country is under a shutdown (#1 in the world, in the number of cases relative to the size of the population) while some Ultra-Orthodox think that praying together in a synagogue is more important than the regulations (The result is that though they are 10% of the population, they are about 30% of the cases, if not more).
I think that today was my worst day on flickr with respect to Bad Pandas :-(
