Today we excited to explore a bit the route from Svensby towards Lyngen and the heart of the Lyngen Alps. Given that day light lasted about 2 hours, we did most of the driving in almost perfect darkness. The amazing thing is you get outside, set up your gear and take a long exposure and in front of your eyes landscapes of pure fairytales emerge in the viewer of your camera :)

Les Surréalistes, les Pataphysiciens, les artistes de l’Humour Fumiste et autres adeptes de la dérision et de l’irrationalité m’ont toujours attiré et beaucoup plu. Je me laisse parfois contaminer par ces tournures d’esprit au point de concocter des photos loufoques.
Surrealists, Pataphysicians, "Humour fumiste" artists and other devotees of derision and irrationality have always attracted and excited me a lot. Sometimes I let myself be contaminated by these turns of mind to the point of concocting crazy photos.
I was super excited to see these coyote pups while in Yellowstone. The den was in the distance, but I still came away with some ok photos. I also got to see both of the adults come back and interact with their pups.
My very first ever, white letter hairstreak!! So excited to find 3 of these beauties today!

I need to interrupt the beauty of Hawrelak Park with this bulletin. After I returned from Hawrelak and had some time to warm up, it came to my attention that the squirrel was some upset over the mouse showing him up in the levitation department. He called me over and gave me a severe dressing down and insisted that I document the fact that he’s still the supreme ruler over all things levitation. You know me, there was no way I was going to decline this opportunity and my fingers had recuperated by that time. We were a definite go for this. He did not disappoint, I was blown away. He actually showed me his best stuff. And this, Ladies and Gentlemen, is why competition rules. It propels us to hitherto unknown heights. Both of us were, to say the least, somewhat excited …
Just a couple of more technical things about levitation here. Most of you may be under the impression that levitation is something that happens in slow motion like when an Indian guru does it. Well, most of the time, this is not the case. You have to be on your toes because the event is over in the flash of an eyeblink. Speaking of being on your toes, like many of my other shots, including the ones from Hawrelak, I employed my favorite shooting technique, the sitting down and enjoying life scenario. This one taken from my swing bench. So, don’t get too hung up over which is the proper shooting stance and how your feet should be positioned for this or that, just relax and get it done :-)

iPhone 6 snapseed mextures
As I was driving into work, the morning sun was making its way thru the mist and fog, trees are just starting to burst with color and I couldn't help myself but to pull over and take it all in. I drove up on this ridge and parked. I walked up to the open gates and noticed several small spider webs, glistening from the dew in the morning sun and started snapping away, I was very excited to see these come out so well on my iPhone. Tiny moments otherwise unwitnessed, my "stopping to smell the roses" moment.
I am excited to show you this picture because it is the beginning of December, my favorite month I would believe and what a way to welcome it than by taking a picture with a beautiful backdrop created by .banana peel. It includes the little trees, the floating gifts and I will leave a preview so you can appreciate it better, I hope this month will be one of many laughs and joys for all of you, my little nanuk dog and I will do it, more when he saw me floating in happiness because of the food I think about (? lol

A rich purple color winding out of a soft but clean white. No Photoshop. This is the actual purple color. Amazing what nature can offer.
There was a thick layer of snow last night but it is almost washed away by rain…I know it can be dangerous etc but I did hope to get some up to date snow shots today but it’s almost all washed away. Less dangerous for many but disappointing for children who were getting excited about going sledging etc….

We returned to Lake Shore Park in Newark. The chicks are getting larger but still wanting to be fed by mum and dad. This chick was so excited, as it stuck its beak into its parent’s mouth, that it put the adult off balance and he/she had to open its wings to stabilize itself. This baby is pretty big now and I’m sure the parents will encourage it to fly and find food for itself soon.
Didn't quite get the filtration I wanted, but I still like it..

A Tufted Titmouse watches with great anticipation as some peanuts are placed out after heavy rains over the past days.
Recently excited by trying to capture a minimalist fine art photo I set out early at 4:00 am to catch the early light. I had recalled there was an old concrete pier about 20 yards off the beach that would make a great subject. I hadn't been out there for many years and knowing Lake Michigan is at an extremely high level I checked Google Earth Pro and was excited to see it was visible again. I arrived only to find the access road was now gated and locked, hours 8:00 am to sunset. Returning later that morning I discovered that pier was still under water and I had failed to look at the date on Google Earth which was set to an old date in history 2013. Not what I was hoping for but still great to get out shooting again!
Always excited when these guys show up in the back yard, because it's so infrequently and they're pretty spectacular. The pileated is one of the biggest, most striking forest birds in North America. About size of a crow/raven, it's distinguished by its black and bold white stripes down the neck and a flaming-red crest. Pretty sure this is a female, since males have a red cheek stripe. She appeared as just a black shadow in the late afternoon and highly backlit. Luckily I got something half decent.
Can you image me being excited by the display of all these warm colors! I usually leave the sun out of my photo but today the colors appeared after sunrise. Isn't this a lovely jetty, but I wonder .... why isn't it symmetrical?
Ridiculously excited to see for myself yesterday evening something I've only ever seen in other people's photos before! A bee roosting by clamping its' jaws onto a plant! Thanks to Ed and afterforty‽ for the ID help. It seems this is a Sharp-tailed Bee - Coelioxys sp.
I'm excited about spending the next month+ exploring more of New Zealand. I've been to the usual places, but now I'm ready to get off the beaten path! :) But, as far as the beaten path goes, this spot isn't so bad! I’d been to this spot a number of times, but I’d never experienced conditions like this. Saying that I was excited for this to unfold would be a considerable understatement. As always, temperamental changing weather brought magic. This was the front end of a storm rolling in - the combination of still water, warm light breaking through the clouds, and haze/rain in the distance didn’t last long. After just a few minutes the wind picked up destroying the reflection - if you look close you can see the rain had already started when I captured this image.
Also, one of my favourite things about editing and reviewing images is finding the little details I missed when I was shooting. If you look close on the right hand side of the image you’ll see a fellow camper in awe of the scene unfolding as well. I had no idea he/she was in this scene when I shot it - I was too excited about the conditions! I still have no idea who this is, but I like to think it's someone I spoke to while camping there. Their body language really echoed how I was feeling in the moment frankly - just drop what you’re doing and get a look at this!
